My th400 car vs 550 AWHP GT37 Evo... From a roll
I just got back from racing a GT37 powered evo on 26 psi from a 45-140 mph roll on, we both spun on the leave (i had to peddle the heck out of it cause I was in 1st) but I ended up getting him by around 2 cars. He made it up by getting me 1 car or so from a dig, damn nittos, need real tires for 15psi. Car made 550 AWHP on a mustang dyno. 3300lbs with driver I believe (some weight savings done, no a/c, etc).

I *heart* my sled.... rosebud. You road racers think a steering wheel is for turning the car, but us drag racers really know it's just there for small corrections (big corrections when it gets scary) and to have something to hold on to.
FYI I didn't post in this section, a mod moved it here, blame the mod that goofed. Post is in jest, don't anyone get too worked up
If it makes any of the road racers feelings feel better, I am running EBC red stuff pads due to the abuse they have to endure on the street (brake boosting FTW!). I know there are better pads, but they have to be hot to work.

Drag racing is for fast cars, Road racing is for fast drivers.
Ya, OK, I tip my hat to those who "steer" 6-7,000HP rockets down the track, but for anyone with merely triple digit power output?? ::: YAWN :::
"every bit as technical??" LMAO!!

And that's as fast as most auto-x drivers who ragg on dragracing have been. There's no way to compare a 12-13 sec pass to 10 sec or less pass.
There's a reason you have to have a license when you get to a certain point in dragracing, because it's not something that just anyone can do. Tell me again, outside of prossfessional road racing, what type of certification/license do you have to have at your average auto-x event?
As for the original post, NOOOOOOO!!!! You know the AWD can never loose!!!!
Nice kill! Now get some real tires on that thing, you've got a 9"!!!

I agree on the the tires - with a good rear there is no need NOT to have the fattest stickiest tires when racing man!
But as for Mitchintx, just to give you a heads up, he's a very well respected autocrosser/road racer and instructor.
He's drag raced before and I think was just poking a little fun at it. No harm no foul.

That's cool. Then maybe he can answer my question, just out of curiousity. To my knowledge there's no type of license or certification that your average auto-x'er has to have if he wants to get on the track and run, regardless of whether he has a race car or stock Vette. Maybe he can enlighten me.
I believe I still hold a valid point. But, no harm no foul

By the way, I was in Vegas last month and did "The Drive" at the Sahara, it was awesome and the best $10 bucks I spent all week...

So hes making over 100hp more than you and you beat him by 3 cars. Sounds kind of funny to me. Either way good kill.
