Default Speaking of bang for the buck

Hey guys, not really street racing related, but if you want a killer car for a fair price that will put the hurt on pretty much any stock car out there, and even give the C6 Z06 a run check this out.

Happy shopping, buy it and post up some kill stories. I know its not an LSX, but its american muscel!

Later.

PS, a few guys have asked about my car. This is a mirror image.

Not a bad ride. Hands down my favorite model year (thru 95). Looked like a real, beastly, unrefined machine (especially love the sidepipes). I just wished they had made the cars to fit big folks. I almost bought a 2003, but the sales guy just kept banging my knee with the door trying to shut it going "you fit fine". Couldn't even get my foot up on the clutch!

Race seats only if your 6'6".

I hear ya, I am 6 foot 2 and I am borderline, especially with the hard top on. Unrefined....you nailed it on the head. think of it as using a 10 lb sledge hammer to put a staple into a few pieces of papper.

but 550 ft/lbs nearly below 2K rpms is imply entoxicating. This is probably the best value for a 500+ hp car out there.

10lb sledge for a staple For the prices the early models are going for, I keep threatening (myself mainly) to buy one or two and put them in storage! For $30-35K, they have to be a blast to drive.

I've driven a mid-year GTS (sort of...) and it is a pure beast. You better know how to drive, or it's walls and spins. Back to the size thing...just didn't have the room/comfort to drive it effectively (or for more than 10 minutes).

I understand that you can get almost 4" of head/leg room out of them with race seats (no tracks). Hmmm...

550+lbs @ below 2k??? I thought torque didn't matter at all?? Isn't the idea to have like no torque and 1000's of HP???

Oh wait..........****...I thought I was talking to 25psi....snap

Seriously it looks like a decent buy. I don't know that I'd call it "bang for the buck", unless you're just talking in terms of a somewhat exotic car, then I'd agree.

I will say this though, believe it or not, I've never seen a 1st gen with the top on before and I must say....yuck. It looks absolutely hideous, almost like someone set a flat board on there.

Still a beautiful car. One of my favorite bodystyles...

I have a friend that has one. only bad thing is it is soo hard to tell the rtegular ole Vipers from the Venom 550 like that one. There are no badges, or anything to make you all the wiser of it being anything other than stock.

I drove his, bone stock viper and I ahd a hard time fitting in it with the softtop on it and I am only 5'8" tall.

yea, I rarely put my hard top on, mainly only at the track. The hard top in this add is aftermarket, the OEM one lokos much better, it has the double bubble hump like the GTS's.

As far as the bang for the buck, no I meant any car period. What other type of car can you get with 10-20 thousand miles on it used that will run in the 11's?

Its the same price as a low milage used C5 Z06, and will bet it pretty easy in the 1/4. I do this the C5 Z06 would go around a road course faster. The gen 1's were a visceral machine, low tech, no traction control, no ABS, and relatively poor brakes cosidering the power of the car.

I am pretty sure for 36K this is about the fastest used car you could buy in the world right now (stock...well kinda stock)

Yea the soft top is an abortion. I have NEVER put mine on. The OEM har top has raised bubbles allowing a few more inches.

Yes the Venoms look stocks, with the exception of stickers, which after a decade come off.

But I kind of like it that way, if there ever was a viper sleeper, this is it.

Such a nice car and such a shitty amp in there. I wonder if he bought it because it matches the paint.

Oh come on now, don't do that. Let's not even go there. We're all acting pretty cool right now, let's not turn this into one of those threads.

The only I'll say is that "bang for the buck" is a pretty broad term, but I do understand what you're saying.

It already is.

I wonder how much it would cost to have windows installed.

I has removeable windows.

No one buys a viper for daily driver. I never have my windows in, and rarely have the top on.

COMNBYU, I hear, you know what I mean.

I just figured to piost it if someone was lookign for a rare, relatively inexpensive, fast car. But I do think it about as cheap as you can find for a factory 11 second car...is it not? :-)

If it has no manual crank or power windows I can push it any way I want.
