Default srt-4

i just raced an srt-4 and that little ****** was fast. he had a small run on me to start with but we probably started goin at about 20 mph. all i can say is damn i had no clue a neon could run that fast, and his wastegate and turbo was drowning out my exhaust easily ( ok, its a flowmaster but it's kinda loud once your on it. ) he had already pulled a car by the time i hit 3rd, well tried to hit 3rd i won't lie i missed it, then he really pulled. well thats my embarrasing story about my neon encounter.

Yeah Dodge kicked *** when they made the SRT-4. No clue why they are stopping the Neon SRT-4..

Scary part is you really have no clue what you are facing when you run one.. Could be 240fwhp or 370fwhp..

In any case.. Nice death..

I like the SRT-4 idea but why would they put it in there 4-door econo box. 2 Door would have been fine. It just wierd what type of person are they going for teen/young drivers or moms that thats need the extra doors and seat room for there car seats. and the roll up back windows and power front thats just stupid.Sry just had to rant waitng for my turn to run 1 nice death tho some can be done nicely and be made fast but its still a neon

I ran one a few nights ago. He was going 40 in a 45 so I slowed and put my exhaust right at his window on the passenger side. I got a sense he wanted to catch a light. We got one finally.

The day before, I was dropping a friend off at a Nissan dealership to pick up his 350z, and we were at a light going back to work. When I hit 2nd gear, the tires spun and I fishtailed a little bit. I firmed my shift points with a VHP tuner, and hadn't got on the car since the tune. Though I don't know if the tune caused me to chirp 2nd like that.

Needless to say, when I ran the skittle, I was a little worried about getting on it again with street tires, so I eased into the pedal until I got rolling.

My bumper was at his door all the way to 80, then I started to pull. He let off and braked to turn. I don't think he could see I was pulling, as I was in his blind spot, so I wont accuse him of letting off as I was about to pull ahead.

His car was fast, and the first one I've run that I couldn't just blow by, but I don't street race much (smoked a 300z, 350z, foxbody and a slow bike to date). Enough of a fight for me to get back to modding ;P

yeah those cars are pretty quick stock and can be made fast for cheap. I raced one on the highway with my cobalt and he slowly pulled a couple cars on me. I also raced one in my Z from a slow roll, maybe about 10 mph, absolutely crushed him.

No sweat on that, sounds like it was close, and missed shifts happen to everyone once in awhile. Well almost everyone. I never miss a shift LOL.

I still get mildly pissed that Dodge never built the Razor. I really like the skittles except for the FWD. I started out (still in) in DSMs and I cant imagine having to baby it off the line with that kind of torque and FWD.

The Razor was a concept made of existing components, the 2.4T motor, but in a 2 door RWD hard top roadster style with no frills for like 16K. They would have flown off the lots and I would have gotten one. Their target weight was like 2800lbs, same as the SRT4. Now they are building a crossover SUV thingy. Which I have heard but cant confirm is also the same basic chassis to be used in the Evo X. Wierd planet we live on.

I raced my friend when his srt had intake, downpipe, bov and i destroyed him. Then he upgraded to stage 1, stage 2 wastegate and full exhaust and i destroyed him again. This time i let him hit it first and i instantly pulled and passed him with ease. But i've watched him beat 98-02 z28 so im confused. I think they are fast but just not Ls1 fast!

I dont really think its something to be embarassed about because they can be damn fast!

Most of the SRT4 owners are people that mod the crap out of them. Its why people got the car in the first place. Lots of people get LS1s and dont do much since they are fast anyway and make nice DDs.

Give it a few years and most of the LS1s on the roads will be people who got the car to mod in the first place or second owners who got it for modding. I think thats already starting to happen, looking at the pace of new product releases.
