Anyone have any experience racing these with their ls1?

Have yet to see one myself, other then in magazine's.
But other's on this site have said they are more then capable of low 13 second run's.
BTW, threads like this get locked pretty quickly.

I have seen a couple at the track. Best run of 13.4 in the 1/4.

Stock for stock, they are oh so slightly faster than a stock LS1 M6 F-body. I see a lot more low 13 and high 12 passes for the SRT than I do for F-bodies. Also, the fastest time for one is a mid 12. Don't mess up while driving against one or it will beat you.

I beat one from a 60 roll...

If you race them on the highway.. just make sure youre in your powerband when you start.. and just keep goin.. their topend kinda falls off after 100ish. Theyre not very aerodynamic.

Ran into a black one yesterday in the Z06, but the guy didn't seem to interested in running. Oh well. I wanted to see just how quick they were. On a side note I got a quick race with an NBM LS1 Z28 that was LOUD, had at least exhaust. We hit it from probably 65 or so and I pulled a few cars real quick and let out, he didn't want any more after that. Its kind of hard to get people to race me in the vette around here....that is when I can even find a fast car and traffic isn't out the WAZOO!

There was one at the track this weekend. Best he could muster was a 13.8

I agree, a slight edge to the srt-8 stock for stock. No doubt a drivers race, 6 speed ls1s have the muster to win, the autos are usually on the other end.

I'm not too worried.. . beat a really close race and I am sure I would screw up a shift or end up losing regardless.. but I think its amusing to lose to a 425HP car with a 305HP car by a narrow margin.

Haven't seen any Charger SRT8s at the track here but seen a few 300 SRT8s. The best I saw was 13.7 @108 and that was with a catback and tune. I was running 13.1 that night in my Camaro SS.

Hope that helps.

well u gotta think 350 hp vs 425, but how much more do they weigh, 500 pounds? it should be close though.

edit: looked up the weight, 4160 pds. for the autos

I think I read that they put down around 360 to the wheels whereas I put down around 310 w/ a catback so figure 50 RWHP advantage but at least a 600 pound disadvantage. I love how everyone's like "it's got 425 HP" whereas not many people realize that weight is such a big factor in racing.

LS2 here. I've obliterated 2...one with exhaust and "chip". Motor only of course. 0-90 put like 6 lengths+ on them. They are fairly quick for a big boat though. I also owned the Magnum R/T...best I got out of it was a 13.96 (with 22s, exhaust and chip).

Beat the crap out of one yesterday.

I was get'n on the freeway onramp and we both raced up it before it merged into one lane. Got that sucker nice and quick. He wanted to highway race after that for the next 3 and a half miles,......... he never caught up!
