Those G35's can be made to be pretty fast......I met a guy a couple of months ago that had a g35 with a Stillen SC on it & that thing hauled......must have had some sort of power adder because the g35 sedan weighs the most out of all the vq35de platforms and only put about 225-240 whp/wtq in stock form and run mid 14's.....just proves that anything can happen on the streets

WTF?
Its a 350Z that weighs a bit more. Same frame more or less, same tranny, same motor. And weight means a lot less from 60 than from a dig. So they guy lost to a unknown tune 350Z in the wrong gear. What's so horrible about that?
Given a bad gear and mods I can see this happening.
The guy's new, so relax.
If I was going to do a Nissan late model project it would be a G35 2 door with a turbo setup. Your going to be heavy either way and I like the stealthy aspect.
So to the OP, get a lid, hell get nothing, and race from a 60 in second next time. Even with full exsaust and intake I just dont see a VQ35 holding on to an LS1 from a highspeed roll. Maybe from a dig. I dont know what the status for better cams with '35s is, but AFAIK, they are not widely available.
So get a lid, get a cut-out, and get second gear.

I Imagine he'll know next time after the 2nd beating he's getting here on the forum. My hats go off to you for admitting the loss and learning from what appears to be a shift error. What exactly is a "assclown"
It apppears the second mistake you made was not finding out if the G35 was modded. After my last *** beating i found out the car was running a 572cu monster motor. He put a major *** wuppen on my 06Z06

It just keeps on amazing me how many people pick the wrong gear. You should always know what gear to drop it into for your best accelleration no matter what speed youre doing. Come on people. That way if he is modded you have a fair race. If you pick the wrong gear a fricking lightly modded civic can beat you

I garantee it was either turbo'd or had a supercharger. When my Z was NA and had every major bolt-on and cams.. I could barely pull away from C5 Vettes with all those mods. LS1 motors are to strong for a minor bolt-on G35 to pull on you.
A turbo on that car will beat your SS depending on PSI. Turbonetics (Most Common) @8PSI with a bone stock VQ puts out 370whp-380whp on an dynojet.

Yeah i agree, the wrong gear can totally change a race. i rolled a 350z at 80 once and i put it in 4th to start. He was able to hang around for about 3 seconds until i ripped away from him.

............. yeah....... you go in 2nd at 55... 60 is only 5mph faster than 55... why go to third when you can go to 2nd?
This post doesn't seem to make much sense
