Vipers arent slow..Your car is just fast. Congradulations..But think about it..You have 500 somthing tourque with the nitros shot right????

Not saying it is not doable (it is) but who has made 465WTQ on a 346 cube "mild" HC setup?

Nice kill on the viper. I tried racing an earlier model last week, but the guy wasn't up for it. I know I would have gotten smoked, but still...

even with a good set of AFRs and all of the bolt ons your not going to 465rwtq on a 346ci ls1. **** most of my buddies all have full bolt on cars with H/C and there in the low to mid 400rwhp and high 300 to low 400 rwtq range.

thats not really true, look at termin8r. he has tsp heads and a 231/237 cam, maybe bigger i forget, but he put down 490 rwhp off the bottle.

It just takes the right combonation, and a good tune.

Dont forget, depending on where you live that could also affect dyno numbers, IE Colorado, etc...

460rwhp on a H/C LS1. Easy. 460rwtq...I don't know about that one.

Probably not, but I have seen quite a few in the high 430's and low 440's on the tq side. A few 01 zo6's in the mid 440's and freaky 02 zo6 that made 509 rwhp and 451 rwtq. Now I'd take the lighter 02 zo6 with 509/451 any day in a race against your 465 rwtq Viper. The viper is packing a little more weight, and 15 rwtq is nothing compared to 150 lb + difference. JMO Vipers still kick ***, but the above mentioned 02 Zo6 would beat its ***. Aggressive head cam setup with everybolt on possible. Pully and EWP too.

I just remembered, I believe Jim Sharps 02 Z made 507/456 at the wheels, a little more food for thought, and before you get snappy I know you mentioned LS1's and not LS6's.

Hey im not trying to stert anything..My car is a rt 10..It weighs 3390 pounds. In the best case senario with the hard top off and the rear window out with a 1/4 tank of gas im still gonna be around 3300 pounds..

410 rwhp and 3300 pounds is not a big deal in the real world. I no the car isnt a monster. i just like camaro's vettes and vipers.

I was just taking up for the Viper because someone said it was over rated...Too me 410 rwhp is still respectable for anything bone stock. And 465 rwt is more than the C6Z06 will put down.

The 99 C5 and 99 Viper were competitors...Back then their was no Z06. Now my c5 was a 2004..But it is a 99% copy of the 99 c5 minus the LS6 intake in such that barely maked a 3 rwhp differance...

Point is..My C5 put down 299 rwhp and 310 rwhp bone stock. My viper put down 410 rwhp and 465 rwt on the same exact dyno bone stock...

Thats a 111 rwhp and 155 rwt differance. Basicly I would have needed to add a 100 wet shot to the C5 to make it dyno like the Viper.

I dont know how else to explain it.....

I spent THOUSANDS of dollars to make my C5 go from dynoing 299 rwhp and 309 rwt to 378 rwhp and 370 rwt...Yea my combo would be considered a mild combo but hey I spent 50 grand on the Corvette and was scared to ruin it like the supercharged camaro I had before that blew up..

-bone stock LS6 heads ( good head for the price)
-224/224 .563 at 112 ( dropped me a solid 1/2 second at the drag strip)
-Vararam air intake( one tenth lost)
-no cats ( another tenth lost)
-no mufflers ( a solid 2 tenths lost)
-160 degree thermo ( great for optimizing power between runs)

I did these mods and put down 378 rwhp. For a auto I thought the numbers were pretty good for a mild/safe set up..I actually dynoed higher than most people. I here lots of stories of people hitting 400 rwhp on LS1's. But Ive never seen a NA one do it yet. So yea I was proud of my 378 rwhp..

BUT IMAGINE MY MOUTH DROPPING WHEN THE BONE STOCK VIPER PUT DOWN 410 RWHP AND 465 RWT. And I paid less for the 99 Viper than I did for the 04 Vette.

But hey Im an honest guy..410 rwhp and 465 rwt looks awesome on paper..

-but .55 coefficient drag for the Viper vrs .32 for the C5z06

-3390 pounds for the Viper vrs 3170 pounds for the z06

-3.07 gears for the viper vrs 3.42 M12 gears for the c5Z06

So even though the gen 2 Viper will dyno 60 rwhp more than a C5Z06 and 115 rwt higher as well..Because of weight gearing and areodynamics, The Viper is only around 3 tenths quicker in the 1/4 mile on average..

12.4 at 116 for a well driven C5Z06 on average
VRS
12.1 at 119 for a well driven viper on average

They both can and have gone much faster bone stock by the best drivers out their. But the point Im trying to make is that Im not trying to brag about the dyno numbers. I know what the Viper can and cant do

With the right valve events, and compression ratio, I don't see why it couldn't be done. Of course, the concept of mild though, that needs to be thrown right out of the window....

Enough with the dyno numbers. What does it run?

I have not seen numbers that good... the 06 viper runs 12.1's and that would be a very good run for a C5 Zo6 too .... but i am on your side I love vipers (hey aren't we all american muscle fans at the end of the day)

Kinda sucks. Iam leaving at least 40 to 50 rwhp on the table with just those two mods. Even though I have a cam iam not quite taking full advantage off it yet.
Man with longtubes/ory/catback/ls6 intake and a 25% pulley youd probably see 500 rwhp and mid 500 torque! Good kill though and sounds like a real nice SS you have there. BTW what sized cam do you have?

you spent THOUSANDS to gain 79 rwhp and 61 rwtq?
