I've never actually thought about that before. But now that you say it like that I gotta say those NASCAR drivers are extremely talented, professional and probably a little crazy.

I don't even like tailgating someone doing on the highway doing 75

Same here. I always leave plenty of room between me and the guy
in front of me.

I don't know how the NASCAR guys do it. I'd fall asleep.

Oh damn this is getting crazy.
Post an article about a bunch of street racers getting arrested and having thier cars siezed on a street racing forum is bout to get some attention. Then throw a cop in there defending the law and all hell breaks loose.

Well then THEY NEED TO GIVE US A PLACE TO RUN THAT ISNT 1+ HOURS AWAY. What do they expect. With the growing popularity of sports cars and street racing you would think we would all be offered outlets to enjoy our hobby.

Cali sucks *****. Maybe a quake will seperate Cali from the rest of the US someday. Then we wont have to worry about them influencing the rest of the states with their smog NAZIism and their damn CARB requirements. Damn Cali hippies. I like not having any inspection requirements.

I would really like to see more effort put into stopping drinking and driving. I do realize there is a problem with the street racing, since alot of the jackasses don't seem to know when and where the wrong places are. But it seems to me the drinking and driving is much more out of control, and much more dangerous than street racing has ever been.

around here, people street race...it happens... i see alot of it.... the closest tracks are ATCO and E-town.... people arent traveling a few hours to jersey anytime they want to have some fun in their car.... there are many people who support a track on Long Island, but until that happens, street racing will always happen

Oh yeah there are quite a few popular sreet racing areas in jersey. Egg Harbor and Chatsworth used to have a lot of racing. Not sure if they still do though. I dont make it up there too much anymore.

I don't know what the answer is? It would be a whole lot nicer if America had an autobahn like Germany. The problem is we would have no way as a country to re-educate our drivers not hog the left lane. Until then drag strips are the last thing our Country has that will keep street racer's out of jail.

Wow, I cant believe the stuff ive read in this thread. People defending their "right to drive" (no such thing) and giving reasons on why they street race. Its sad that people are making excuses to break the law. Those of you who support the idea of street racing or going 150mph because you "think no one is around", do me a favor, stay the hell out of Vegas, I dont want me or mine killed or hospitalized because your dumbass is too lazy to take it to the track.

not when the closest dragstrip is a 2.5 hour drive away. trust me it sucks driving all the way the **** that far and then race and drive all the way home. i dont like street racing, i hate it(im not saying its right), but if there is no track close by what do you expect enthusiasts to do? i havent street raced in a while and doing 150 plus is stupid, but when i did race we went far out in the country away from everyone. that way the only people who took the risk of getting hurt was those racing or watching. cops shouldnt sell their cars, thats ridiculous. who is going to buy cars all beefed up? ummm more racers! duh! it does no good to sell the cars, other than try to make people mad enough to start shooting. just my .02
