Heading to get my car tuned this morning I came across a charcoal colored mach on the feeder. I pulled up beside him and let him know I was interested. His car sounded pretty good but thought I'd pull on him anyway.

Well he takes off and I follow but am not able to make up the ground and pass him, though I did gain ground. We then get side by side again and I tell him I'm gonna honk this time. We both hit it and I'm able so slowly pull on him ending up a couple cars ahead. However, I swore I noticed his car was an auto?

We get side by side at a slow roll and ask if he has an auto to which he replies yes, but is manually shifting. I ask what he has done and he says just exhaust. Though I need a tune, my car should be making 305-315rwhp and will run a high 12. I've also dropped 100lbs or so. Now he wants to go from 30 but this time once he gets up to speed he takes off. With his jump and I'm sure sweet spot, I wasn't able to get him. I got a call from the shop on the way there telling me the tuner wouldn't be in til later so I wasn't able to get a tune yet.

This was at beltway and 45 at fuqua if anyone knows the owner of the mach?

 

I would figure that you would be able to pull an auto Mach that just has exhaust mods with all the mods you have..

 

I definately took it as he was lying about his mods, lol.

 

BS on an A4 exhaust only putting down 300+...it just ain't happenin'.

He was Lying on his mods...especially to pull. You were runnin' all motor? or a small shot?

hey guys, not to hijack this thread. i gotta buddy of mine who swears hes making 360hp on his auto mach 1. heres the mods i think he has. he has a catless prochamber, pulley, flowmaster or magnaflow. and he has a diablo predator. lol..i chuckled when he said his car has 360 hp.. cuz i know auto machs make like 250-260 rwhp.. what do u guys think? do u think i can take him. all i have is an 02 z28, slp lid, and maganflow catback, with 2.73!! im sure im around the 290-300rwhp ball park!! and he said, hes been playing around with his compression and he says his car feels faster. but i dont think he knows what hes doing messing with his compression on a diablo predator..

 

I run a 225 shot so its either ***** to the wall or nothing, lol.

I would sure hope it wouldn't have been anywhere near close had I sprayed. My car makes close to 550/650 on the gas.

 

well by your mods, it shouldn't have been anywhere close without you spraying lol that's why i asked cause apparantly he had something else done besides exhaust.

 

Um....he is clueless. I am about 350 FWHP, and I have more mods. He is putting down about 270, maybe 280. predator box tunes are CRAP. I would LOVE to hear his explenation on how he is changing his CR. I don't think I could hold back laughter before he gets ONE word out.

 

Um..you'd be surprised. He probably has more power at the wheels. Maybe you didn't see his sig.?? 5.0, H/C......The mach was lying about his mods.

 

Yeah that's the point i was trying to get across. He shoulda smoked the mach 1 if all it had was exhaust.

yeah man. hes one of those that thinks his car is fast cuz he puts a flowmaster muffler or something..but what do u guys think. do u think i can actually pull on his mach?

 

tuning compression lmfao i didn't even see that earlier. Too many forums at once. I think you'd do good against him. it'd be really close.

 

I think it would be a driver's race with the gear difference, PENDING his tune. That box tune may actually be hurting him. but, I dont' think it will be a problem, cause if he thinks a tune can change his CR, then you will beat him.....cause he'll Miss a shift.

 

well my buddys 03 mach 1 auto, ran a 14.0 @99mph here in san antonio raceway. thats without the pulley, and predator tune..lol. so i dunno how much that helps. cuz i ran into him in the weekend. i overheard him say that the predator and toying around helped his compression or something and his car is alot faster..lol..but im thinking, if i dont know much bout compression and all that other stuff, then you obviously dont know wtf yur doing..lol. im saving up for headers and pulleys..

 

Tune's don't affect CR..........tell him I said...DUH!!!!.

The fastest A4 stock mach to date was 13.5.

 

he ran 14s and he is saying he is alot FASTER?????? what the hell was he running before, 15s?????

 

that was the only time i saw him run his mach 1 at the track. he ran a 14.0@99 mph. it was funny cuz i heard his street racing stories..i heard him supposedly pulling on a lightning, then pulling a cobra, then getting skunked by a supra!! makes no sense, cuz if your pulling on a cobra, though he didnt state what year then you for sure should have ate up that supra or atleast hung with one..lol. im just curious if my car can actually pull on him. i think ill slightly edge him out, cuz i know my car with just a lid, and a catback makes more power than him. i also heard those mustang auto trannies are worse than ours.. i dunno how true that is. plus i think our cars are a little lighter right?
