Yeah really. Lay off the guy with the S2000.
Think about it, he has a Honda and built it to go fast. It's the idiots that put a wing and fart can on their Hondas and think they will rape anything with a V8 that deserve a beating.

I said LT1's run high 13's, if you say high 13's is slow as ****, you say LT1's are slow as ****, what dont you understand?

I guess I don't understand you comparing a full bolt on ( intake and exhaust ) with gears s2000 to a bone stock LT1. I thought LT1s ran the quarter right around 14.0 stock?

So if his not-heavily-modded S2K runs a high 13 or so, then it is slow as ****, since it is not heavily modded and all S2000s are slow as **** unless they are heavily modded according to that incredible peice of E-wisdom.
With me so far?
What was so rightly pointed out is that if high 13s are slow as **** (which they are by that guys definition) then stock LT1s are "slow as ****" too. This is not the case. And therefore mild modded S2000s are not "slow as ****" either.
Basicly, he blew away a double standard.

HP vs TQ. UGH.
HP is...no, wait.....
HP IS TQ at higher RPMs. Say it with me people.
HP IS TQ at higher RPMs.
And if you have no HP then you have no TQ above 5250. And that makes for a slower car unless you have really conservative gearing, which also makes for a slower car. Why do you think the Z06 beats out the Viper? It runs better gearing because it can. Why? because it has great high-rpm TQ otherwise known as HP. They look so similar on paper, yet the Z06 is the clear winner. Despite all the E-knowledge saying that it's best to make as much of your power as low as possible. I have news. The best SBC builders in the world dont shoot for low end TQ. Go HP.
This has been posted so many times its insane but it never gets around.
LS1s need both HP and TQ in about equal measure IMHO. They spend equal amounts of time above and below 5250. S2000s should not see much lower than that at any point but the launch (hence the 60 foot remark, which is over simplified). So if you spend virtually the whole race between 5 and 9, WTF cares about torque at 4000? If it really mattered S2000s would be running more like high 15s since they only have about 160TQ. But they run mid to low 14s out of the box and apperantly LT1-like times with some bolt-ons. They do it with far far less TQ than an LT1. Because they use more HP than TQ. And behold, a bolt-on S2K probably makes a bit less HP than an LT1, but with less weight and meaner gearing, and voila: similar time.

Try to follow me here.......
A poster said s2000's are slow as ****, in stock form, or lightly modded they are as fast or faster than a stock LT1, so he in essence called LT1's slow as ****.
oh well, I am tired...

Sweet, someone else who can put 2 and 2 together!! Thanks for clearing it up, I got tired of explaining it :-)
Its funny though. Good kill to the thread starter, I am still baffled as to why a minor bolton S2K would even bother racing a vette, I saw an S2K put down a whopping 199HP on a dynojet.
Thats not even worth racing a vette with.

Thats not even worth racing a vette with.yeah, my old Busa only put 148 to the wheel, hardley worth racing a vette.
If the car was modded I doubt that it only made 199.
AP2's typical dyno stock at 210 at the wheels, a few good mods but it around 230.
Anyway, to simply say something suck based only on HP numbers is a true sign of ignorance.
Dont hate it because its a honda, or because the driver was a tool. The car itself, un riced out if a fabulous car.
But to each their own, I like all kinds of cars, domestic or import.

Thanks for clearing up the dubious sexuality of the car.
This is like arguing with a retarded kid, you win Corky.
to CTSVSL65AMG and Sparetire,
you guys really sound like ********.
Did you guys have to take lessons or what?
why are you attacking me? b/c I misunderstood your post?
sorry i misunderstood your post.
and by the way, full bolt-ons with gears to run stock LT1 times is slow as ****.

Im not hating anyone, I just simply said why bother racing a vette with a stock or near stock S2K?
I do like all kinds of cars to include imports.
