Default silly s2000

LONG VERSION:

I was walking into the gas station when I see a white s2000 pull up. It looks really good. It has a nice widebody kit and beautiful deep dish wheels. I'm in the gas station by the time he shut's it down. He revved it before he did and I heard exhaust(prolly full because is actually sounded pretty good) and it revved really fast. almost like a sportbike. I assumed it must be pretty built up to look like and sound like that. Anyways, I'm in line and he is behind me talking to his buddy about some STI "that just wouldn't give up." He was a little fu(ker that was talking loud enough so people could hear him. I turned around and casually said "sharp car, sounds good"

he responds "it outta"

I'm thought it was a dick remark but he said it very nicely and I don't think he meant anything by it. I asked him if he ever ran against anybody. I motioned to the far side of the parking lot where 7-8 "import tuners" where parked.

he says "I ran a couple of em for a couple bucks just to make it interesting. I walked em pretty bad."

I know for a fact that one of the cars I motioned to is a 12 sec evo. Now my interest is peaked.

Now we are both walking out and he is still talking to me about this wing and that gauge. I spot 2 pillar gauges. All and all a fast looking car. He mentions that he is looking for a good "stoplight to stoplight runs." He asks me what i drive. I casually point to my vette. It looks good. I just washed and waxed it. The top is off and I just got some polished wheels. He hesitates for a split second. He must have assumed I drove one of the many 4 bangers out there. He then goes into it. It was almost as if on cue.

"I pulled pretty good on those until I got that cylinder 3 misfire," he says to his friend. he tells his friend where i can hear him. To his credit though, he brings up running them. I agree and ask what he has. He says exhaust, intake clutch/flywheel (hence the really fast revving), and "laptop." he doesn't even ask me what i hav. either becuase he doesn't know to or becuase he doesn't want to hear "completely stock."

I suggest the main road with the stoplights. he then tells my his back tires are "totally ******* destroyed" from the donuts him and his friends video taped earlier that night. he suggest a 50 mph roll. I hastily agree because I'm on the stock runflats. I'm sooooo excited. first beause I've never actually talked to anybody beforehand that I'm gonna race(in the vette anyways). and secondly because I fully expect to rape this honda.

we line up and he gives three good, even honks at fifty. I'm in second and I immediately jump. His car is absolutely screaming. It sounds like a freaking 600cc crotch rocket. by the time I shift to second I'm 1 full car ahead. He doesn't gain any when I shift. I then really start to pull hard. like embarrassingly hard. I shut down and he catches up and is like "****, my knock sensor is going crazy!" we repeated the race with the same results. A solid 5-6 cars by 100-110 mph. He was amazed my car was stock and said "dammit, I prolly couldn't even in the twisties either." That was my favorite part.

Cliff notes:

Cocky owner in a all show no go s2000 gets royally messed up by a stock vette from 50 mph repeatedly.

Lol nice story, but whats funny is there are guys on the S2K board that swear they can run with Vette's I know some of them are quick (we used to have an 03, so I know plenty about them) but 95% of them dont stand a chance against LSx's.

Knock sensor? WTF would he be getting knock with intake and exsaust mods only? What, does the neo-injen-super-ram-type x intake flow so much it makes him run lean despite having a laptop to tune it?

Knock. LOL. Thats one well tuned car he has there.

Awesome kill.

Doesn't a vette have a "**** sensor"? I bet it went nuts when that guy pulled along side in his A/S, N/G S2000...

Theres not much to say. He has a vett, we all know its faster then a n/a s2k and the guy in the s2k is a tool. I was on s2ki and a guy said he beat a vett with a stock s2k. Lets just say I was damn near kick off of that site.

Nice kill. Way to represent Vette's. My girlfriend has an 05 S2000. It is an awesome car but cannot hang with the vette. One of my neighbors has what I think is a turbo charged S2000. That thing is fast but he has never been able to catch me! It's a great car for backroads but not a dragger...

I grow less and less impressed with S2k's as the days go by...

The other day, a buddy and I were sitting at a light in his 06 Lotus Elise, when a yellow S2k comes buzzin up super-fast. He was all decked out with pre-requsite wing, carbon fibre hood & deck, lowered, exhaust, etc.

So, the light turns green and he jumps on it. I didn't think my buddy was game, until he decided to take 1st all the way up to 10k rpm! So, we pull past the S2k and get to the other light. At that light, we both get proper launches and the Elise puts 2-3 cars on him before we had to slam on the brakes, because of a car (the road was totally empty for miles, except for the one car my friend vectors in on... doh!)

Anyway, at the next light, my buddy decides "playtime's over" and takes a right turn without stopping at ~50mph. The S2k "tries" to keep up and almost eats it!

Now, I know there's ~$15k difference between a new S2000 and a new Elise, but considering the paint, wheels, mods, carbonfibre and plastic et al, I'm assuming he's spent the same kinda scratch as just getting the better car.

Anyway, nice kill.

Most s2ks are slow when you put it up to a Vett. When it comes to a turbo s2k they can range in power. From 300rwhp to 700+ rwhp

yeah but not on stock internals. 700whp in an s2000 would cost about the price of another brand new s2000 and 300 whp would be a ticking time bomb for the stock internals well atleast i think it would due to the high compression ratio they come with stock..right?? oh and how much are you putting down in your s2k? must be pretty sick to be running 11's

Exactly. Ricers act like their cars can hit 700WHP with just a turbo. Too bad you haver to rebuilt the whole motor, and then there's still a good chance its going to blow up.

Its a Honda, they make economy cars, get over yourself riceboy
