^ So your saying every C6Z06 traps at 130? Do you know how much hp this whipple Cobra is making? Too many variables to call bs!! Keep in mind I have a Z06 bud, I know their potential, I also know what Cobras are capable of.

BTW...Heres something you might like. My wife raced a C6Z in our C5Z and pulled it pretty good, granted it was an old man and I know for a fact he started in the wrong gear but the point is ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN.

Now that we've got that outta the way..........I saw on SVT that the guy makes ~ 620/580 in the Cobra. IMO, if the C6 Z06 was in the right gear and could drive, he'd never put 10+ cars on him with those numbers. Victory, yes....10+ cars, no way.

Who cares, that doesn't mean the C5 was faster...I understand "anything can happen," but the point is the race should have been much closer. If someone starts in the wrong gear, or doesn't know how to drive, how can you consider that a race? Hey guys, i just beat a new C6 zo6 in my 89 bolt on Camaro RS! We went from 60 and he started in 5th gear. We shut down at 95 because i was pulling so hard... lol, that just sounds so stupid.

It's not worth talking about races that are not races! People could just be accelerating a little bit. Even this Cobra Vs Zo6 race sounds stupid. I guess the Cobra guy assumes the Zo6 just floors it and he pulls right by him. Wow, cool race, im sure he was full throttle...


His cobra traps 145 too. I mean, it's easy to pull on a C6 Zo6 from a roll when he gets the hit. Sure, that makes sense...

 

By that mentality, I guess no street races are actual races. Granted I dont' agree with them, but they happen. fact is anything happens on teh street. If both driver's are acutally accellerating and hitting high speeds it was a race. It's not anyones fault there are alot of iIncompetent people out there. If they couldnt' be in the right gear, change gears, or go WOT.....it's their fault,a nd shouldn't ahve raced.

 

forgive me,i don't do this too often i know a guy who has one,you can look at his videos his name is fadi and his car is stock and stomps on head and camed ls1 on the highway. i say one at the track only running 12.8's but he traped 123mph at that terrable e.t.

^ Haha I totally agree. Like its your fault someone else doesnt know how to drive or doesnt know their powerband. So next time I see any race where the outcome should have been different im calling bs because the guy didnt know how to drive?? A race is a race, I dont care who started it or who finished it, if someone starts messing around and you go at it, in my book thats a race regardless.

C6 Z06 is Lighter and has a more radical TQ power band, and makes around 75-100 more RWHP from the factory.
Sorry man no pun intended but comparing a C5 Z06 at around 355RWHP and a C6 Z06 at around 450RWHP is like comparing a TPI to an LS1.

The only way I see the cobra guy putting 10 cars on the Z06 is if the young kid let out of it b/c the girl was scared and the cobra guy thought THEY WERE STILL RACING

Ok guys maybe I exagerated by 10 cars, but the guy look like he was trying to impress his G/f by slowing down and them taking off....When I did catch to him and got him to slow down enough I was able to get my car of from 3rd and was trying to give him the 3 honks..but I see him do it again (get on it) but by this time my rpm's are high and boost ready, that all I remember is pulling him hard and next thing you know I see him in my rearview mirror....As far as my car it doesnt weight as much as a regular cobra it does have weight reduction and makes 621rwhp......

 

ohh sorry for the mistake run up my RPM"S, cause yes it makes boost instant but it will take time if you are in 6th gear and punch...had to drop it down a couple of gears

Haha you guys get all offended. BELIEVE me you dont have to list the differences between the 2 I know what they are, BTW my next car will be a C6Z. What I meant was I have one so "im into them" so I know what they are capable of...damn its not that hard to comprehend. As I said 10 cars is a lot to pull on a C6Z but not impossible. I love Vettes (have 2) but what the hell I'll say it theres always a faster car out there.

 

I've seen the new z06 run, and its fast! nothing will put 10 cars on a c6 z06 besides a viper henessy venom, bagatti veyron, or something crazy like that.

If it happened, the z06 must've been in 6th gear the whole time or something...

 

All true except the c6z is not lighter than a c5z. As a matter of fact the C5Z is slightly lighter.

difficult to judge in the rearview though. I'll give you that.

A Whipple Cobra is certainly a match for a C6 Z06... No Question.
What gets me is, it would take a 500-600 RWhp Cobra to run with a C6 on the highway.... so 10 lengths?
