You're honestly saying that a 350Z with intake and exhaust would hang with an LS1 dead even to 140MPH??
They need F/I just to hang with a stock LS1, that car is a complete joke

and no, i wasn't claiming that breathing mods make a Z hang with an ls1, I was saying that could explain the noise you heard.

LS1's put down between 290-310WHP bone stock, depending on transmission. Most M6 LS1's put down 300WHP. 350Z's are rated at 287HP, and put down somewhere around 240WHP. Thats a difference of 60WHP, and considering both cars weigh about the same and the LS1 has a huge powerband advantage, thats a big difference.
There's no way a 350Z with an Intake and Exhaust is even going to hang with a stock LS1. Sorry, thats reality, many of us have experienced it first hand. Get over it.
As for F/I, you need to compare apples with apples. A 350Z needs a turbo just to hang with bolt on LS1's. If you crank the boost up enough, they will obviously be faster. Then of course you risk blowing the motor up. Chances are a H/C LS1 will still beat most F/I 350Z's. However, an F/I LS1 will absolutely destroy any 350Z, so any way you look at it the 350Z still loses.

You guys are making the 350z sounds really really slow.
I have a 350z and I ran an A4 Camaro SS from a 5 roll, until about 130. He pulled 2 cars on me, and didn't pull away any further. He had exhaust only, I have a catback, and plenum spacer only.
My friend has a 350z with a vortech supercharger. It runs 12.1 in the 1/4 mile.
Also, have you heard of Alberto? A guy that actually knows how to drive his Z:
http://videos.streetfire.net/search/...489ae5527d.htm
This is only a single turbo, stock internals:

My point being, with the right tune, right driver, the 350z can make decent times.

350Z and M6 LS1 a close race... thats a good one. 350Zs need crazy dollas thrown at them to go anywhere. They are great looking cars though for sure. Id rather have 300ZX TT anyday though. Funny how the 2003-2005 Nissan 350Zs came with less power than their old counterparts 300ZX TTs.

The 300zx TT was a $45k car with a twin turbod 6 cylinder. The 350z is a $26k car with a na 6 cylinder. The 350z does pretty darn well for itself compared to its older brother.
Anyway, most of this is pointless because in the end, there will always be people who are ignorant and won't listen. 25psi, you have more patience than I do. I see you pop up all the time to try and educate, and I can't do that ALL the time. Wears me down trying to educate those who don't wish to be educated. You have the car to 'educate' first hand though. No one can deny being spanked

They might make less power, but there neck and neck through the 1/4. You also wont find a 300zx making over 400rwhp at 8psi either. Or find one that has run 6.4's at 215mph.

So whats your point? Are you saying the vq35 is inferior to vq30? If you are, then your wrong. The Vq30 has been out for 16years now and hasnt accomplished what the vq35 has done in 3. Yes it is turbocharged from the factory, but does this make it a superior motor. You wont find another 6cyl or 4cyl that can make 200hp from 7-8psi of boost from a basic turbokit! Throw in an exhaust and spacer and you have an additional 30-40hp.
I ran the smallest twin turbokit for the 350z, which is the PowerEnterprise 1320 turbos. These only support roughly 600hp and I was able to make 412rwhp and 464ftlb at 7-8psi and 464rwhp 505ftlb with exhaust, spacer and water injection. Others have made 500rwhp at 11-12psi with larger turbo kits.

IF you read, I said 4's and 6cyl.
Because you have a V8 doesnt mean you will make more torque. A person on another thread here has a procharged C5 vette than only makes 470rwhp and 433ftlbs of torque from 7psi. I made more than torque than that from the same amount of boost in my 350z. So you can throw your theory out the door!
Why is it that every V8 enthusiast thinks they would make more torque from a V8. I've said this before. A stock 350z makes more torque than a 4.6 liter stang, 5.0 liter stang and a 5.7 liter Lt1
