Lt1 vs. Lightning

Lt1 vs. Lightning Got a race with a Lightning tonight. Was driving home and noticed how he was flooring it at every light (he was in front of me). Caught him at a light and saw the SVT logo. He got next to me and we got a red light. My friend looked over at him and said he was sure he would race.
Light turnes green, I floor it and basically the tires jst spina dn I'm fishtailing everywhere. Guy didn't go but we catch the next red light and he says he ready.I get on the throttle softly then floor it, little spinning bu I got a bumper length on him, get into second, pull a little more, get to third and proved my win.
He pulled up to me and said the truck was stock and he wanted to race from a roll. Culdn't get the race in as he tunred right but I really needed to get home and couldn't let a race, out of the way, ruin my night.
I also saw a Supra earlier but he wasn't going to give the LT1 a chance. Good night overall but them Nittos really suck *** unless they're hot. They were performing like my old Kuhmos tonight.

i always enjoy racing lightnings in my 99 z28 i only have cat-back and lid. ive only gone from rolls and beat them everytime. i race one with a pulley and tube, he diddnt really want to loose that easilly but he eventually did

I ran one once when I had my 1994 TA A4 all stock. We both took off from a light and around 15mph we punched it. He pulled away slowly and probably had a car on me by 75-80mph. Later on I ran a 14.09 @ 98mph with that car and my friend ran 13.5 @ 101 with his stock lightening, so i guess the outcome was to be expected.

I have seen a harleydavidson 4 dr SC truck run 12.5 & Lightings run 8's with a Turbo, but Man, you know how many are close to stock and don't run for ****?

Good Kill, I was not aware it was an older stock L, not all L's run faster than 13.5 stock..

Yeah not sure what the problem is here dude, if my 02 L could get beat by stock LS1's, modded LT1's could have easily taken me on the street. I wish I could have a run in with a LIGHTLY modded LT1 before I sold it, that would have been a fun race. The closest I got was a couple of lightly modded 99^ GT's, which are LT1 territory, and I could handle most of them.
