Theyve been to 150k+ for 20 years with plenty of boost. Come out of the dark already. For christ sake there are guys on stock 4G63s that have 550whp+ on the stock block. The stock turbo and high boost levels are not taking a toll at all. Its a iron block, its fine.
Its cool. Your friend probably has a very bad boost leak to be causing that taper that early
No it doesnt. Its runs out of steam around 6500-6700, where boost falls to 19psi. It will sustain that up to 7500+ and the car still makes pretty good power up past 7000. Every fast stock turbo EVO revs to around 7300-7500.
Not sure what BMP is.. but 12.7 for a 9 with those mods is awful. Some have went 12.9 stock and as fast as 11.9 with those mods.
Well youre probably making silly power with 15-16psi. You can run 22psi everyday in the EVO no problem.
I find myself in that predicament sometimes. I was messing with a cammed, stalled LS1 almost a year ago and I edged him out by a nose from a 50 roll, yet from the line he had me to 100mph by a nose. Weird stuff.
ask because pretty much any full exhaust, cams, 05 EVO runs around 113-115traps on the stock turbo in the 1/5. Worst being around 113, and you pulled that dude like 10 car lengths. When I race someone within 2-3mph of my trap it doesnt look a quarter that bad. Just thought that was weird.
What a joke that guy is lol. Tell him to race an 06 EVO with the same mods... he will stop bragging.
I dont think its the "baddest" motor out there by any means. For the money, hell yeah, but in terms of technology and overall power, no.
The 2005 EVOS usually put down around 10-15whp more than the 03-04s and theyre rated at 276crank hp which is a little underrated IMO. Should be 280-285.
The 2006s have dynoed around 260 up to 270awhp bone stock yet theyre rated at 286crank HP, which is way underrated as well.

From what it looks like, you have a full bolt on, cammed car. I am not suprised you pull things up top since Im sure youre making great power. Maybe you and I would be a good race
