I didnt give him up, but it has ended my street racing career. It's costing me about $3000 to keep my record clean.

this isn't CSI guys. it's not like they are trying to put a killer behind bars. just lay low, keep your mouth shut and you should be fine. remember until you are in front of a judge everything the cops tell you should be considered a lie. they don't have to be honest with you and can make up any story they want in order to put the pressure to you. that's how 90% of people go to jail. they give themselves up thinking they are caught when really, they've just been had.

not all staties have cameras. dont tell them it was you, think about they didnt give him a break. besides its a trooper! tell them you have no idea what they were talking about. the worst that will happen is you get convicted, the best is you get off.

I like your thinking, so I would go with calling them and being honest. But I can also see the value in getting a good, local legal opinion.

In my DUI class a couple years ago, one of the women in there was convicted of DUI all because someone saw her driving poorly, called the cops and gave them the plate number. They showed up at her house and arrested and charged her. That is just a bystander's word.
I'd just keep my mouth closed, don't initiate contact with the cops. If they show up at your door, then so be it. Hire a lawyer. Even if you are convicted, can't really complain. Teaches you a valuable lesson, cause losing your car and being broke for a year sucks ***** let me tell you.

I was about to make the 1,2 shift and i saw him (the cop) fishtail behind us in my rear view and turn his lights on
how fast were you going when the cop past you? If you hit the rev limiter that couldn't have been acceleratingly to much. And if you weren't going past the speed limit I don't see what the fuss would be about. I run into tons of cars that want to race at the wrong place and take off in front of me like a bat out of hell and I just follow cruise style and let them take the risk.

BEST INTERNET ADVICE ANYONE WILL GIVE YOU.. keep your mouth shut. lose their cards and dont talk to anyone about it. period. minimum they would have showed up at ur house or mailed you a court summuns. they went to ur work cause the father of the kid told the cops u worked there. obviously hte cop didnt pull you over for a reason, if u were gonna get fucked, u would have. the cop went after hte other kid and not you. its a "he said she said". basically, talking to any cops now and admitting to anything is tantamount to walking up to the station with ur hands in hte air yelling "it was me, arrest me!!". if they do call you into the station and you decide to go, deny everything and play dumb. two things will happen, u get away or u dont and get charged with street racing, which you were doing anyways. remember, if they had solid evidence that it WAS you, ud be in jail right now or be sitting on top of 1000$ in fines.

I got caught my a state boy once for street racing and burning some tires off. He pulled me over and told/screamed at me that it was a felony and i just agreed with everything he said. Like "Yes! I am the idiot here." Oh yea, this guy tore me a new ******* and then said "get the Fu(k outta here." So i did just that and felt like the luckiest person on earth. So honestly may be the way to go, but then again, if they haven't busted you yet, i doubt they are just waiting for the right moment to get you.

It's possible that NOT calling them back would be suspicious. As for you taking off, who wouldn't have? You waited there 10 minutes right? It's unlikely that the cop saw it go down from the start - just you owning that 5.0. "I'm so sorry officer. I was in a hurry to get back to work and I guess this kid thought thought I wanted to race."

Yeah! 1st post!

Shaggy said it best. "It wasn't me.".

Cops will always give you that line "If you come clean now it will be better for you in the end." Bullshit, if you kept your mouth shut in the 1st place your azz would be home in your bed sleeping.

Now if it was me, I'd get a lawyer and send him in to do the fighting for me.
Ok Lawyer > Great liar

ive taken the advice to just lay it all down and tell the cops everything you were doing, not jerk them around, AND HAD IT ALL BLOW UP. they dont have anything on you, and if they do have anything they would have done something, or they will be doing something reguardless of what you tell them. just ignore the cards. if they follow up, play dumb, you lost the cards, you werent driving, i dont remember anyone calling me, i diddnt eat lunch. have your superviser vouch for you. id just see what develops. good luck bud

Like everyone else is saying, don't say anything and when/if they come looking for you, let them know it was a mistake and that you weren't the instigator.

Just quit pulling an Arod on this **** and thinking to much of it...just deny and remember that you are innocent until proven guilty...if they think it's you theyll try to get you to confess and they will throw bull at you about cameras and witnesses, so you plead the 5th and ask them to show you the evidence. Other than that, forget about it and move on, you gotta learn to say "**** it" sometimes and move on even though it's not right.

If they dont have a vid of the race then what can they charge you with? Were you speeding? You pulled over so if you werent speeding just say that you were driving normally, saw the lights go on, and pulled over. When the cop went past you and chased the other guy you figured he wasnt after you. What can they do?
