The best advice I can give you is do NOT say anything without a lawyer present. Don't deny or acknowledge anything until your lawyer advises you on what to say (or not to say).

Good luck.

You already admitted it three pages worth! They do not always go to your house they will issue a warrant for your arrest, Then the next time you get pulled you go to jail it sucks!

I don't know what the problem is really. You don't have to prove you are innocent. They have to prove you are guilty. So why do their work and admit anything at all.

Just tell them "If the glove doesn't fit, you must acquit.".

LOL ..

I had a situation where I was lined up at a light and we both went. There was a slight bend in the road ahead of us. I was pulling away when my radar detector started screaming at me, I let off and hit the brakes until I was just at the speed limit. The other guy goes flying past me as we head into the bend, sure enough right there in the median was a deputy. He immediately hit the lights and pulled us both over. He stated he was going to issue me a ticket for street racing because he could "hear" me when I had left the traffic light. I said sir if I was racing I would have been in front of him, (it was a riced out civic.. Yes there are fast civics, this wasnt one) and I dont see how you could have heard anything over his annoying exhaust. The cop went back to his car and I assume ran our licences and tags, came back with a ticket book and told me he KNEW I was racing but admitted he did not actually see me and since I had a perfectly clean driving record sent me on my way with out even writing me a warning. When I came back by that location 30 minutes later the other guy was still there and so was a tow truck. I assume he had something else on the other guy and that is why I was let off with nothing.

The way I see it, it was my one "Get of Jail for Free " card in life. Hopefully the same for you.

Fucked your insurance? Your lucky he didnt cuff you, cut up your license, and slap you with a reckless driving violation, speeding, etc...Cops are supposed to arrest you if you double the speed limit.

had about the same thing happen to me. Passed a cop on a double solid and when I saw him I kep getting it and ran. Well I was scared and hid out the rest of the day. The last thing I saw of him was 100 yards back with lights on and fading fast. Next morning guess who showed up two cops around 6 am. They came inside and asked me where I was at the time it occured. I was going to say a friend had my car but no I told the truth. He yelled at me in my own house and told me all of these tickets he could give me but in the end He didn't do anything or couldn't? My buddy that is a cop in the same county said they just run the color and make of the car and I popped up they never had my plate. I hope there is never a next time but if there is I may not tell the truth.

and i thought i got caught going fast i got a careless driving for doing 116 in a 65, why couldn't you get away i passed a cop on the freeway doing around 140, he had no chance by the time he had his lights on i had more than a football field on him, i just dropped a gear and put the pedal to the floor 10 seconds later he was a spec of blinking lights in my rear view, I really don't think he gave chase though, the only reason i got busted going 116 was because the cop came from the oncoming side of the freeway, flew through the grass median dust and grass flying everywhere, almost crashing into my drivers rear quarter and then almost getting Tboned by my buddy in his monte carlo behind me, now that scared the s*** out of me, I decided this guy was on a mission and was gonna stop me no matter what so i slowed and pulled over, the cop was actually pretty cool though we both had adrenaline racing and bullshitted on the side of the road for 20 or so minutes, he decided not to arrest me but still gave me a careless

My advice to the thread starter is like most other's, don't say anything, even that being said your most likely going to get a summons in the mail, it sucks that both the dad and kid ratted you out otherwise i think you would have been fine, but considering the cop, the kid and the dad place you there I would say your screwed, good luck to ya anyways you never know

i called the cop back today at lunch. Turned out that he wasnt on until this evening, so I left a message and my cell#. The plan is to be respectful, and make sure they know that if they have anything to book me on that ill come in peacefully on my own will. Ill have a bondsman go w/me so its hopefully in and out if necessary. However if they dont than i can only discuss the few outstanding tickets i know i have from the work truck. Id be happy to listen to anything they had to say but in relation to what happened i cant make any statements until im infront of a judge. Hows that sound? Ill update you when i know more.

+1. I know you couldnt have known it at the time, but if you would have denied it to the dad I think you'd be in the clear now. Good luck!

OTOH, I always told myself if something like this happened to me Id shoot home and get the car up on jackstands, pull an axle or something like that so it seemed like it was not driving anytime soon. OTOH, there arent too many chrome yellow notches around either.

You are aware that an Evasion ticket can land you 6 months in jail?

but i initially stopped and weither i ignore it for now or not, if i plan on being here awhile its gonna come up again. Id rather get this **** over and done with and besides, evasion is the opposite of what calling the officer back was.

And the 6 months in jail is after i see a judge. If i see a judge then it means they had enough to book me on. If they had enough to book me on then id rather walk in than get drug in. Plus this woud be my first arrest so worse come to worse ill survuive. And no matter what i aint sayin **** until im in front of the judge.

Its really not evasion at all, its not like the cop stopped and told him to wait there while he gets the other guy and then he'll be back. If the cop goes by you youre good to go. Thats all there is to it. but yea, going to jail would suck...

Good luck with everything!
