Good luck with everything!

Exactly again you pulled over and stopped, the cop went flying past you, so you left the scene because you thought he was going after the mustang...thats it...thats all you have to say and they cant bust you for evasion. Plus you called them back and just play stupid. Deny that you were racing, blame the other kid and say he took off from the stop light while you were driving normal (if he only heard the cars and didnt see you do a burnout or launch then he has nothing on you for racing), and again that you pulled over and out of the way of the officer, he went flying past you, so you left. They have nothing on you, dont admit ****.

I can't believe some morons here would say be honest to the cop about what happened! All he's going to do is arrest you and file the charges with the DA. Don't ever admit anything to a cop, talk to a lawyer. A cop will pretend to be your friend and act cool just to get information. Don't say a word. Trust me, I know..

This isn't a murder trial, if you don't admit they can't/won't persue it. For one it's not worth it, secondly they can't prove it. If they give you anymore trouble get a lawyer and direct them to their office. It will save you in the long run.

Any word on the 5.0 kid?

Because when he gets out he might come looking for your ride, like a kid. You have to be an exceptional form of stupid to run from a cop that is behind you with his lights on.

Cops going the other way, unable to whip a U in short time, MAYBE.

I would do the right thing for your future and get legal counsel and fight any case they bring forward. Obviously they don't have much, cops don't wait around on their asses when they could be out hauling you in and harassing you for what you did.

Oh, and I forgot to say. The father, rightfully frustrated, should of directed all his anger at his son. Him yelling at you is like him yelling at his sons car for having a gas pedal. It isnt the gun its the trigger finger.

3rd strike? Maybe dad sees a pattern. The Judge will too.

I'd just keep my mouth closed, don't initiate contact with the cops. If they show up at your door, then so be it. Hire a lawyer. Even if you are convicted, can't really complain. Teaches you a valuable lesson, cause losing your car and being broke for a year sucks ***** let me tell you.
That lady in your dui class was full of ****.
Ain't no cop anywhere gonna knock on someones door and arrest them because a neighbor saw them driving poorly.

The only thing the cop would've done is asked if she were out driving while drunk. She was drunk, so probably said yes lol....that's the only way he could've brought her in

Well, its coming up on 2 weeks since anything new has happened. Not to call this too early but thank God i just may have escaped by the skin of my teeth. No calls, and no knocks at the door yet so im hoping its water under the bridge by now. The kid is out in his 5.0 again. His dad is cordial at work once again, however he did say that he lost 700 bucks to get back his kid and car (so far). The biggest kick is that after all of this alot of the guys at work are telling me that the dad was saying he believes his kid beat me and still can. A few more months and we may have to get some of the guys from work come out with us to the track so everyone can see just how a bolt on 5.0 does against the ole LS1 and educate a handful of folks at once about doubting pushrod power. I kinda still feel sorry for the kid. Not only did he get slapped around and then arrested, but word is that he blew his tranney just the other day. God must drive a GM lol. Seriously though, I appreciate all of the advice and hope that anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation gets all of the luck, support and understanding that i have. Thanks guys, esp. those of you who encouraged me to chill out and sit tight and keep my mouth shut. There for a minute when everyone around me was pussien out sayin - "Turn yourself in and get a lawyer" (which was gonna be $1500) i almost panicked and did just that. Thankfully there were quite a few people who had intelligent points like the general fact that if they want me they could get me and laying low could only help not hurt. Like i said its still way early, and anything can still happen, but so far so good.

As for who really won the races. Do i really need to elaborate? He has headers, a 3'' Y and flowmaster dumped before the axle, and maybe a K&N filter. Its like a 89 (carb/EFI ?). Not a bad car by any means. Good budget bruiser. Just not quite a LS1 level contender. Yes, the A4 is frekin damn slow but theres still an LS1 riding under the hood. Only one that was close was the race from a dig that got broke up right when i woulda took off on em. What pisses me off about this part of the deal is that although i told the truth about how the races went to the guys at work i still gave the kid props for driving the stang to its fullest, and holdin his own. He on the other hand goes and says HE BEAT ME! A blatent freakin lie. All his dad would say was that he thought that if he had been driving he could beat me. And once he gets the DRs his kid could beat me. We will just see about that. Not to rub it in but hes gonna be fixin a trans., paying fines and buying tires. Not much room for more in the short period of time between now and track opening. I however, just got my tax return, and bought new back tires, spark plugs, headers and true duals dumped at the axle for the TA. Once i get all of that and the 2400 stall i already have put on (a month) she oughta run like a scalded ape, and that 5.0 kid wont even know what excuse to use. If you guys had any idea about what kind of unspoken tension there is around this very issue between me and his dad at work than you can understand why i say this will likely turn into a future vid. Until then, once again guys, thanks.

I can tell from some of the posts who's a cop, and who's been through the system a bunch of times already.. Listen, unless this Cop's sole purpose in life is to GET YOU (It seems like that sometimes but more than likely he doesn't even rememeber who you are today).. it will all go away.. now, if you call him and leave him your number, now you are giving him the opportunity to "remember" he was pissed that day and do something about it.. Let it go, be unavailable if he calls, if you are going to get tickets, you're getting them in the mail, deal with it then. If you openly admit to him what you did he can write you for it and you will pay. like others have said, no eluding, he never told you to stay there, he got your plate alright, it was just easier to go to your job, how far from home do you work? I will say 50-60% of people that go to jail do so because of their own MOUTH..... say nothing, no matter what, if you get summonses get a lawyer, take it to trial as well, don't give in, your lawyer will try and get things reduced, most will NOT fight the summons.. yOU ARE ALWAYS BETTER OFF stopping the second you think you are being run down, even before the lights go on, I can't remember the last time I wrote someone that was that courteous, and it does happen, stay out of trouble, do that crap on deserted roads if you are going to be doing it.. it may not be you, someone else ***** up and you crash, you will be doing jail time if you were driving recklessly..

You worry too much man, if they really wanted to nail your *** to the wall, they would have done it already. I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over it.

First and only time i got pulled over i was doing around 75 in a 55, not really too bad. Was honest with the cop and nice to him. Cop was nice back, only was there for 5 minutes. Still got a 70 in a 55 though, lol.

im pretty sure their more interested with the kid who evaded the police than you who pulled over like your supposed to. When you see a cop fly pass you when your already pulled over, wtf are you supposed to do just sit there and wait? i would of done the same thing. im pretty sure you have not much to worry about. **** that kids dad to he should of done something about it the first 2 times his sone fucked up street racing. if i was the dad i would take **** away from him and buy him a civic for being such a dumbass. just the wrong place at the wrong time. Good luck man!

Don't sweat it, you're all clear. Like others have said, if anything does come up, deny everything. You were driving normal, you pulled over because you saw lights, he passed you and you went on your merry way. Just be cool.

The dad is a friggin' moron, and the acorn does indeed not fall far from the tree.
Kid gets his 3rd offense, gets jailed, dad pays $700+ to put the kid back on the street, and encourages another episode by claiming that HE could beat you?

Dayum......

about 10 years ago my brother stopped at a store and saw a school buddy of his. The guy asked for a ride about a mile or mile and half up the road. within half a mile the cops stop him and the guy jumps out the car and hauls ***.Now my brother said one of the cops told him "go we don't want you" so he leaves.Within about 4 days the cops arrest him in a taco bell parking after he ate lunch for failure to stop for a blue light. He was looking at 5 years

im sure they got your plate man....i think its just time to man up and take whats comin. admit you were wrong and they might be a little lenient with you, especially since you pulled over and the kid took off immediately. honesty will probably get you an alright deal. just my opinion
