The magazines weighed the Vert in at 4,000# and the coupes @ 3900#. They must have weighed them at a heavy scale or our local scale is off. My Vette weighed in # 3340# locally.

Well I like the gt500 and the gt40 HELL I LIKE SPORTS CARS!!! But......... Some owners own themselves because they dont know what the fk they are talking about. I race and beat a gt500 with upgrades and a gt40 in the same day. Was it a bus load race no but I won. The gt40 was the best because his car was so loud I had to watch my tach untill i pulled him. But the guy was cool and gave the thumbs up. The gt500 just rooled up his windows and drove off. After he talk all that ish.

I've seen some SS's priced well into the $30's back in '02.

Affirmative, when I was looking at the 98ss black, sticker said just shy of $34k. Damn things are expensive for the time.

Pretty damn close. I almost bought one in 2003 when I bought my full loaded dodge 4x4 quad . Sticker said about $35k and they add $3k for some detailing package and $2500 dealer markup. It was just about $41k not counting tax and tags. The following year, they were $36k out the door.

They are very sweet looking and have a forged 5.4 4V blower motor STOCK. I love my SS but GM isnt even trying while Ford is pumping out some FAST *** pony cars, you do realize the last 2 Cobra mustangs ford made have been THE FASTEST pony cars ever right? Props to Ford for these cars cause GM gave up.
NO OFFENSE to fbody owners and to this fbody site because i love the Generals ponycars but that was the comment of the year for me on ANY message board i am on. Thanks to whoever revived this thread. T'was a good read!

It's just the truth. While Ford was out making the two quickest/fastest PONY cars ever GM just threw in the towel. Not that I can blame them, the Mustangs were selling like hotcakes so it was easy for Ford to spend some money producing a superiour product compared to the GM stuff.

I question the validity of this video as well.....the numbers just don't seem to add up.

That being said, anything is possible (but I highly doubt the T/A is S/C and tuned and/or was actually trying)!!

So true. My SS just has a few bolt-ons and I give the jump, I mean, you will either catch them or get owned anyway. There usually isn't much grey area from a roll and if there is, nobody is WAY faster than the other if they put only a car on them from 50-120+, .

I wouldn't say GM threw in the towel, like you said, the Mustangs outsold the Fbodys, what, 3 to 1? Your comment on how Ford had money to throw around to make a superior product is very true though. However, Ford is going completely down the shithole as a company.

Exactly. Plus it's much cooler when you let them pull a few cars out
and you reel that in and a whole bunch more.
