Default Stage 1 SRT-4

I'm trying to find out how fast a stage 1 SRT-4 is in the 1/4 mile. A kid at my school has one. He made a comment that he wanted to race me and knew he would win. I'm not 100% on his mods but I think I heard what he has. First of all, he isn't exactly a stage 1, but I would like to know what they run for reference.

He has an intake and injectors (guessing it's a 2003). No upgraded computer. And a BOV but that's nothin. He is pretty good with stick, so lets say he's a good driver. What would be a likely outcome against me on the street?

race him from a dig and you will win. From a roll he might get you alittle.

Oh my bad. I'm not in here alot, but I shouldn't make excuses since I've been a member for a while.

I plan on racing him, but I wanted to feel confident. It's only a matter of time before I post the outcome.

If you guys go from a roll it is going to be close. From a dig you should take him

agreed, from a dig, from a roll he will top you out (sad isn't it when a 4Cyl takes you out on the topend?) they're rarely driven well from a dig on the street.. good luck, just don't "smack talk" him, so if you do win it's that much more enjoyable

If he has what you say, and no boost control or MAP clamp, you can win from a dig. From a roll, you will lose.

I know man. I don't think my cars the ****, but it's a NEON. I hate how fast they are.

Unfortunately, it's cold out right now. So it might be awhile till it's worth launching on the street. Unless we do a gay 45mph roll.

I've raced 2 different srts a week apart....BOTH had," bigger turbo and exaust"....i raced each guy three times from stop lights....they would get 1/2 car off the line , then I pulled even by around 60-80mph....at 90-100 I was 1+ cars ahead...by 110 2-3 cars and shut down....both guys were cool about it.

should be close, but I think if you don't spin , you will hold him off...barely.

Stage 1 is the upgraded computer/PCM and thats it (well 2003's get bigger injectors since the 04-05 already have them)..

The thing with S1 is, people who get it go two routes usually. The first is someone who just wants to gain a little bit of power and cant afford the bigger kits. They arent usually too tough to edge out (figure exhaust, BOV, S1, and other mild bolt ons).. Then you have the guys who use the S1 computer to eliminate the over boost codes and what not and they usualy run fuel tuning devices, larger turbos, ETC. Those you should watch out for. That could be a 400whp S1 vs the previous 260WHP S1 car.

S1 and S2 are basically not a big deal ALONE, but can be nasty when people tune on top of them. They are stepping stones. S3 is a different story all together

Figure if he can drive the car can go 13.3-4 in the 1/4...... with minimal mods on top of that.

You'll take him from the dig if you can drive, from a roll it's up in the air. Probably too close to call. Too many factors.

Have fun and BE SAFE!!!!!!!!!!

report back.

I have witnessed a bone stock srt-4 run 13.8 several times in a row......so im thinking a stage 2 can run better than mid 13's on a good day.

Actually Stage 1's run mid 13's on a regular. Bone stock they're capable of hitting high 13's all day with a good driver. A stage 2 with good traction should be in the low 13's no problem and have LS1 like trap speeds.

I have raced a guy in a lightly moded srt lightly meaning intake and a spring that alows the are to stay in the turbo longer. The kid says its good for 3 lbs. Anyways I was in my budies '89 IROC and we went from a role of 30 to 90 and we were dead even and he was a good driver. I was granny shifting due to having a week *** T5. I think you should take him.
