the guy with the neon that raced got his car dyno'ed today...........350fwhp and 335tq........untuned........his car is a little beast.......i raced him again on spray and who ever got the jump won...after the take off are cars would lock up and the 1st race was from a dig....i spun pretty good......he got out 2 cars on me and i couldnt pull him back in......i won the next dig, 40, 20....i got the jump and held it but he stayed about 1 and 1/2 cars back on me
Nice kill and now that he is tuned look out. My best friend has an 05 srt-4 with a .50 trim, upgraded fuel system, turboback, intake, wga, tune, etc and he put down 363 whp and the thing SCREAMS. Honestly id say if you race him again have your spray ready. Im not a huge fan of 4 cylinder turboed cars but having raced him and been walked bad in my cammed z28 I have a ton fo respect for them.
I will post a vid of an ACR SRT-4 that puts down 400+/4?? in about a month... The Shop I deal with is having a Dyno day for them, at least 13 so far, some making serious power, i know this particularonebecause it is a friend's at work, we just ran it on the AWD Mustang Dyno @20psi (running 25 w/meth now) and it put down 376/411 in 4th gear.. little POS is uncatchable on the hwy, feels quickler than my friend's mid 10 second TR on the move.. but like the usual SRT-4 problem in the street it cannot do anything but spin (under 45mph even in third, no traction) so I ask you this.. where is the fun in driving that car on a day-day basis? I know my mid 12 second SUV isn't "fast" in todays world, but I can whoop that cars *** every time as long as it's a "real street race", which is the only way I know how to do it, I can't stand that "racing from a roll" crap.. but I guess if they were to wear some DR's that hooked, they would be wicked on the street (if their drivetrain held up?)
the real shame of it is the GM counterpart/answer to the SRT-4, the Cobalt SS/SC, what a joke compared to the power those Turbo's are putting down.. GM needs to stop with the SC and deal with developing a good Turbo car, maybe the new Redline/GXP 4cyl turbos are on the right track?
