Default STI kill, makes me sad

I kinda like the WRX STI's, if I was an import kinda guy, that's what I'd have. But last night, I was on I95, and this STI pulls up next to me, he had exhaust, and I could hear a louder than normal blow off valve, he instigated it. He gave 3 honks, and he got the jump from a 75 roll, by the time I hit 120, I was 3 cars lengths ahead, then we did the same race again, same result. So I'm thinking this STI is just not a highway monster, also I have 2.73 gears, so that was helping. Then we get off of the highway, and we line up at a red light, He launched good, hooking a heck of a lot better than me, Once I grip, I just walked him, bad. My car is full bolt ons, minus a stall. This just dissapointed me how bad I walked him.

Well, good kill man! Although they're not my cup of tea, STIs are definately quick little things. I wonder what his mods were?

Nice kill.

I ran one with exhaust, intake, bov and i dont know what else from the same speed you did and i had the same results. I thought it would put up a better fight. Then i didnt have my LT's/duals. I had a lid, ported tb and a cutout.

I've beaten then in my 98 cobra from a 40 roll wit just a filter exhaust and short shifter....and have also beaten then in my srt4.... wit just intake and exsaust...haven't had the chance in my 05 yet....they are monters from a dig wit an agressive launch....but they are easily realed in....espcially for an ls1....good kill....jus don't under estamate them....

I got chewed on a couple of weeks ago by a Evo. That's what I would choose.

The Evo 9 is the best of the rally cars to me right now. The new mivec turbo they have definitely gives them more top end. I've seen a time of 12.9 at 106 from one of those stock. On top of that they respond really well to some "cheap" mods.

I plan on jumping from my '02 Mustang GT to a LS2 GTO A4 and even with 400 horses that new Evo would probably hang with me on top end. Just a reflash and tune and I'd be toast.

The last one I tangled with in the Cobra was far from stock. I managed to run him down by a fender at the big end in a pullied, geared Terminator. That Termie ran an 11.21 on slicks so he was NO slouch. Then again, he did drive some 400 miles to race me. I don't reckon he'd come so far unless he thought he could win. I hadn't spread the word about the Electric Locker and Gears before he showed and I would've lost without 'em.

you are aware that with a VERY sick driver, you could pull a 11.2 with a intake, exhaust and 2.80 pullied terminator with slicks right? seen it before.

nice kill. I think the BOV was hurting him, the STI's use recirculating valves and alot of ricers will put a BOV on just for the sound and it really lags the car out.

The car still had the stock IRS. The only difference was the Locker and the 4.10 ratio. Lotsa guys are running low times with solid axles. IRS is a whole 'nother story. The DA for the run was 1200 if I recall. Now if the guy ran that with the stock IRS and factory gears with no spray, I'd say two things. He was a helluva driver and was on one helluva good track. Either way, good job for him pulling off an 11.2 in a pullied Cobra 'cause any way ya slice it, that's a good time.
