Evos bottom end is way better than a 1Gs

Ive got freind who is very fast witha GT35R on a stock bottom end

Sounds like a GST... it's not uncommon for modded GSTs to run in the 12s. I'm sure your T/A is a low 13 second car unless it's THE ultimate factory freak or something. If that GST was a 10 or 11 second car he'd be beating you by alot more than he did... I'm thinking it was in the 12 second range.

Same as 1Gs. I know the highest documented stock bottom end 1G has done 585awhp. Owner didn't want to push any further. There are another two I know of that have trapped 133-135mph on the stock bottom end. One being an almost full weight 2G AWD with a 6-bolt swap. Hell even the quickest 7-bolt 2G (a FWD) went 10.7 @135mph a couple years ago. They are strong even for the "weak" crankwalk prone 7-bolts.

Viva la 4g63.

...but I agree with Justin there. Run what you brung and hope you brought enough.

I live in downtown houston, we were off highway 59 going North. it was like a cherry red eclipse, had the altezza lights in the rear, huge exhaust.... no spoiler, and guage pod.... sure that doesnt help too much... a common thing with ricers... but he didnt have a huge spoiler on!

I ran my car once at San Antonio Raceway, and got a 13.1 quarter mile.... which was bone stock on this car... with the added longtubes, ory, slp loudmouth, and lid on it.... it should be about a 12.7 or so.... an excellent driver can run a 12.9 in this car bone stock from what I have read on here....

That was just a fluke. Fast turbo DSMs RARELY have that garbage. You find those mostly on the 2G NTs (non-turbo models.) Can't blame you for thinking he was a ricer. I would too.


No wing is good though...haha.

Listen, write this down, when a 4 banger is turbo, they usually don't need spray, but reactions like yours is the reason I loved my old dsm and am contemplating getting another one.

Honestly if he only pulled a few cars on you up top I bet he had a 16g, maybe evo 16g if you wanna feel special, a bigger turbo would run away from you by buslength's, don't underestimate it just cause it's a 4 banger it doesn't take much over 300whp to beat u by a good few cars (prob a little less than 300 given the dif. in weight. Bigger turbo's will do 400+, 16g's will be in the 300whp range which are small upgraded turbo's, with a decent fmic, it's known to be in the 300 range.

The RB11 is ******* OPEN DECK on top of being aluminum for crying out loud. I read that in the new Automobile. Mitsu killed its only great motor. Wonderful. Im sure the 50lbs they saved by making that tiny block AL will make up for all the durability of forgiveness of Iron. Seriously, how much do bare '63 blocks weigh these days? Maybe 120lbs? I can damn near carry around the bare 6 bolt block in my garage. And I'm like 160. They keep the ******* transverse layout, then worry about balance. Right there is a great example of engineering stupidity. Then, to compensate for that inherent frig up, they take away one of the best aspects of the whoel shebang. Gahhhhhh!
