They were designed around road courses.
Whether it was "designed for" ultimate handling or not, it was still done in an attempt to make the Mustang handle better. And in any event, it DAMN sure wasn't made for straightline performance. And I never said a WS6 was "good at handling," but that does not change the fact that "WS6" is a handling-oriented suspension package, and has been for decades. So straightline may be the main focus, but it's not all there is to it.

All I want to say before this thread locks is that I read this entire thread, and Finite1 I think your opinion on cars is immature and your giving Fbody owners a bad name by acting the way you are. IMO a true car enthusiast appreciates ANY nice care reguardless of its make. To dislike a nice car just because it is a Ford doesn't make any sense, neither does your argument... which is just a bunch of childish rant that makes you look reeeaaalllly dumb!

i dunno ive driven my buddies 96 Cobra...and i feel that the IRS was done for handling and straight line only for the fact that the torque steer isnt nearly as bad as it is in my buddies Cobra...he cant hammer on it and stay in it because his steering wheel will crank to the side real bad and hell end up driving straight into the oncoming lanes...where mine does not...either way the suspension is shitty as it is and GM definitely has an advantage there...when will Ford learn...

True story. He's probably talking about bump steer.
