I had no clue LT4s were so bad ass.

I had the pleasure of running an LT4 vet on the freeway last summer. It looked like it just rolled off the showroom floor very nice vet (Black). Went from a 50 kick I was ever so slowly pushing past him. At the time I had Lid and Cat back. Best et for me that year was 13.20 with an A4

lt4 was basicaly a heads and cam lt1. very similar to ls1 vs ls6. but nothing like ls2 vs ls7. lt4's had different heads and intakes. allowed alot more air flow and why they were rated higher.

I've seen 12.5 @ 111mph from a ZR1... they might seem like they're on par with an LS1 on paper, but those cars pulled like monsters on top. They're more on par with LS2s.

My stock 01 WS6 went 12.8 @ 110 mph on stock tires, I bet it would have gone mid 12s on a tire. I never had a chance to run one though. Also LS2 Vettes are trapping more than 110 mph arent they?

ZR1's strong suit is not the 1/4 mile. They were hitting 180mph back in 1990. DOHC motors like that breathe fantastic uptop. So your stock WS6 might have trapped 110mph, but a ZR1 would still have walked it uptop.

Ya didnt the ZR1's have like a button that could turn something on that put it at its max power? Like if you were racing you would hit this button but if your crusing you just turn it off. I remember my dad telling bout something but i cant remember what exactly it did.
All i know is i would definitely like to own one of the ZR1's

Same "button" GM has offered on many vehicles. It shuts off 4 of the cylinders to give better gas mileage.
And I know that a Zr1 would be faster up top, thats what they were built for, I was just stating that in a drag race that and an LS1 f body would be a drivers race.

GM doesn't offer a "button" that deactivates cylinders. It's automatic, and computer-controlled. And the ZR1 had a special key (ala Bugatti Veyron) that allows for full power to be made. I think without the key (which is insert at the front of the center console), the rev limiter is lowered, and the A/F curves are reduced dramatically.

I had a 96 LT4 Vette and it ran 13.0x @ 110 100% bone stock. It was definitely a strong car. The 96 Vette had a unique lower front fender vent that was different from all the other years it was sort of scallop shaped. If you see a C4 with this and a 6 speed…watch out!

Last summer I ran a friend that had a 1996 Collectors Edition vette (silver in color and 6spd) with the LT4.
We went from a dig a few times and from a roll a few times. I would pull him everytime, however it was alot less than I thought; about 1/2 to 1 car length up to 80mph or so. Those LT4s are strong.
He was stock except for some sort of intake and catback. I am full bolt-ons with 4.10s. The time in my sig is before the new clutch with aluminum flywheel and LTs. I'm thinking I could be around 114mph - 115mph trap in the 1/4 now. I'll find out this spring.

Yeah, that's why my *realistic* "dream" Corvette is an Admiral blue LT4, with the red/black interior like my mom's old '94 LT1 had. And I want the Grand Sport wheels as well. There's a guy around here that has an LT4 CE, looks stock at first to the untrained eye. And then you notice the rear fender flares, and the fact that those are ZR1 wheels on the back, and not the ZR1-lookalikes that came on the CE. And then he starts it, and you hear a FANTASTIC cam. When he pops the hood, there's a sheetmetal intake manifold, an MSD ignition (screw Optispark), longtubes, and a host of other high-performance pieces. Guy says it dynoed at 485rwhp. You might think that it's geared toward dragstrip-performance, until you notice that it is wearing Kumho Victoracers
I'm such a sucker for C4s ![Icondrool](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies2/icondrool.gif)
Edit: Here's a pic of my mom's old one, the first weekend after we got it back in Jan. '00. I was 14 at the time, but since I took such good care of it, it basically became my car on my 16th birthday. I miss that car
