Experiences with Whipple Cobras?
I ran a Whipple Cobra on 15lbs tonight, and it was pretty even when we both could get clean runs in. I am making 341 on the motor, with a 150 shot on top of that. I was expecting to get outran. I was spinning very badly from 50, and from 65, we both finally got a good 50 run in and I was out front until he missed 4th gear. Does anyone else with bolt-ons, and nitrous have experience with Whipples?

Your car probably makes alot more torque than HP on nitrous with that plate kit. This sounds about right for me. I know of a whipple Cobra only running 95mph in the 1/8th...Pretty pathetic for what it is if you ask me.

In my T/A i ran a whippled 03 cobra.....from 40mph he started to walk me....then very quick began to run from me . He got like 8+ lengths from 40-100. My car dynoed 426rwhp and i believe 401rwtq.

then possibly around 475 if he has a REALLY good tune. My buddy is spraying 150 on a bolt'on motor and he only dyno'ed at 400 even. He is also running 28* advance so I am guessing he had some knock on the dyno. On his lean spike when the bottle initially hit, it peaked at 430hp.

A Whipple at 13PSI puts down a bare minimum of 530RWHP, although I've never seen any number on them that low. And at 15PSI they make 550+RWHP.
Compare that to your 450 with your spray and it still shouldn't be close. Even with the weight difference. He should've walked you. I think anyone would expect him to. I'm not calling BS or nothing like that though. Nor debate on which car is faster/better etc etc. I know the potential of Sprayed LS1, and I know the potential of Cobras. I'm just a little surprised just as you are. But you were in front so that's what matters.
Anyone else have any experiences with a Whipple'd Cobra?..

just for reference, my buddy had a KB on his 2004 cobra (similar to a whipple) at 15 psi and ran 11.6@122 in the heat full weight and stock wheels all around making 545rwhp I believe.

my buddy who posts on here has an 00 SS with an m6 and runs a 150 shot with a gm hot cam and some bolt ons and on et streets bias ply's he went 11.6 at 122 with a 1.90 60 ft so i can see where the t/a could have got him. his car should be a lot better this year he put in a th400 and (after numerous debates with him) is gonna take out the lowering springs hes got in it and put stock ones back in and the car should go better this year
