Oh I didn't know that this was in his track record. But seriously you should at least ask what kind of car I have before you start assuming things. And then you said they are high 12 second cars....OMG.... are you serious how could I ever beat a high 12 second car???

I am on crack? Go drive a C6 Z06 and then get into a 97 NSX like I did and you tell me who is smoking crack. The steering was slopy as heck (Yes, the steering was sloppy!!!) and the power was, well, what power?

In its time it was a cool car, but nowadays, it just doesn't compete with most cars in its price range.

And Nurburgring times? Please, the NSX ran over 8:10 on the Ring which is FAR from "badass times".

An NSX is a peice of ****. The look like ****, they are slow by todays sports car standards, and they probably handle half way decent, but who cares. Like everyone said, no doubt they were good for their time, but I can think of a million different vehicles I'd rather have for the money. To sum it up, an NSX is a complete waste of money.

The ONLY nsx that ever ran a 12 was the 2002+ NSX-R at a 12.8. Not bad, but slow for a $100k car. If you pay that for a car that is outperformed, outclassed, and outstyled by cars half its price you're an idiot.

I like imports too, but Honda dropped the ball on the NSX.

Sorry to all of you "exotic" import ers, but to me it is BUTT FUGLY!! An FD RX-7 is 10 times better looking/proportional.

I had a highly modified R1 FD3S, it was one of the best cars I have ever owned. Other than some reliability issues...but the handling was so awesome (loved to lift throttle oversteer!). Now I would much rather have that than a NSX.

Fadi..Did you actually get on the NSX while on the freeway? On the freeway above 4500 rpm's the car pulls like a 2001 c5z06...

When my auto c5 was pushin 378 rwhp and 370 rwt Me and my best friend raced a few times. His car is a white 2005 manual NSX..

From 50-110 mph we were dead even. I was in shock???!!!! Now from a low roll/dead stock i could pull him no problem. But from a high roll when he's already close to or above 4500 rpm's the car was wicked fast in stock form and would literally walk away from a stock C5/fbody..

but at the track they only run 12.9-13.4 at 106-110 mph...About equivalent to an LS1 C5...

but dont be fooled by the 1997 and ups track times.. They are DOG slow while under 4500 rpm's.. Dog slow man. Unlike the LS1 wich feels powerful at rpm's. but once 4500 rpm's hits it feels like some just hit a 100 shot ( no fu**ing joke)

My best explanation is that from idle to 4400 rpm's it feels like a bone stock LTI fbody..And from 4500-8500 rpm's it feels like a 2001 z06 vette.

I was simply amazed that his stock NSX was able to hang with me from 50-110 mph. many many cars with better reputations couldnt ( including stock 03 cobras)

i know what some of you are thinking..if the 1997 and up NSX only trapps 106-110 and the 03 cobra trapps 108-112.. how in the hell can the NSX give me a better roll race?

Because the 1/4 mile also takes into consideration the first few shifts were the NSX is under 4500 rpm's and DOG slow. If it could pull from idle to 4500 rpm's the way it dose from 4500-8500 rpm's the car would be trapping 110-114 mph. Make no mistake.

Entriged by how fast this bone stock NSX was after years of personally saying they were over rated peices of crap. the first thing i did was run my 100% bone stock gen 2 viper ( wich dynoed 410 rwhp and 465 rwt) against his 100% bone stock NSX..

from 50-120 mph the viper pulled around 4 car lengths...

Slow and over rated??? go race a stock 1997 and up from 50-150 and tell me how slow they are..

by the way.. the 1996 and below are around 1 second and 7 mph slower than the 1997 and up NSX's. People running these 1996 and under NSX's are the ones spreading the myth of being slow. because a 1996 looks 99% like a 2002.

are you trying too say that the nsx's gears are so spread out that when you shift it falls below 4500?

Could you please stop being ignorant and stick to the facts. I would love nothing more than to stick my own head in the sand while chanting "LS1 LS1 LS1" over and over again as well, but it just aint so sometimes.
Older NSX:

Newer NSX:

The LS1 is a great motor and the F/Y cars a nice platform, I think its DAMN! impressive that they will hang with a 90K sports car (or rather damn sad a 90K sports car isnt that much faster).

HOWEVER! From a roll the newer NSX should put an LS1 away...if only barely. The older one is most likely what you raced, either that or an auto or one poorly piloted.

Yes, i drove it for over 20 mins on the freeway, around corners, everything. While it was pretty stable around a corner, it was far from what people made it out to be. All the hype got me excited and maybe I was expecting too much? Biggest surprise was the sloppy steering. It felt like I had to turn the wheel to a 90* angle to turn the car at a 45* angle. Just sloppy.

A C5 Z06 would RAPE an NSX from ANY speed. I am not sure what NSX you raced, but a stock one and a stock C5 Z06 aren't even in the same league as far as straight line acceleration. Maybe close in handling, but definitely not in a straight line.

FYI I saw a stock C6 Z at the strip today, first pass the owner EVER made in it...11.88@121. WOW!

I know the difference in the years, but something about your story is bothering me. NSX's weigh about the same as a C5 and they are rated at 290 flywheel hp and 224 lb ft. So even if they have 290 RWHP and 224 RWTQ there is no way one should be as fast as a similar weight C5. And even the lightweight NSX-R's only ran 12.80's and the Comptech S/C NSX's are mid 12 second cars. Which still is in no way close to a well driven C5 Z06. And the NSX's low rpm pull is optimized by having very deep gearing so the power would show up in the mph at the top end of the track. But keep 2 facts in mind they are rated at 290 hp flywheel and 224 lb ft. And they weigh over 3,000 lbs. Your friend must have had a factory freak.

It was like I said a newer one with fixed headlights(290 hp version) and like I said before, at least find out what kind of car I have before you say I am lying.
Even the Comptech S/C cars (405 flywheel hp) only run mid 12's which means a stock well driven Z06 can take one.

You have a 2001 C5. I never said you lied one bit. I think it very possible that you could beat an NSX. while most of the new ones are JUST AS FAST as a C5...not every driver is. Good kill, but the 2 cars are about = in acceleration.

EDIT: I assume you mean Z06. In this case, yes, sounds very believable.

I almost raced one when I had the 150 shot on. But my radar detector stopped me...then the cop stopped me for tint. I think they look slick

Well lets just say that its not a stock car...and certainly not one that can be beat by a high 12 second car
