So Ill say from experience, they give a stock LS1 a run for their money, if not a win by no more than a car though.

I raced a charger srt8 last weekend, from a 50 roll I put a couple cars on him. But from a dig to 140 we were dead even! My current mods are JBA O/R mids, Magnaflow CB, and a Diablosport Tuner. Those things roll out hard!

thanks. i dont know why the mph was so high. first run was 13.1@108 and the second run was a little quicker @ 110.

i went back with the CAI and went 13.00000 @ 107? But there was a 20 mph headwind the whole time and everyone was going 2-3tenths slower than normal. its got 12s in it, just gotta get there on the right day heres the video of it stock: http://www.crawlinta.com/movies/roysrtstock.wmv

And here is a burnout video the week before i went to the track: http://www.crawlinta.com/movies/roy.mpg obviously also stock.

heavy- yes. but dont underestimate them and for anyone who cares, heres some in-car video at road america: http://www.crawlinta.com/movies/ra/ temp was about 34 degrees so the track was a bit cold.

They seem to be right on top of the CTS-V's with more weight and worse gearing. What do these things put to the wheels?

i dynoed 381rwhp/386tq with just a CAI. heat soak is a bitch though and you will see a 10-20 rwhp loss once the car gets above 210.

yea i have a 170. but unless you get programming (i think?) you cant set the fans to go on before stock 220?deg...unless you wanna rig up a bunch of relays and chit. while moving it keeps it cool which is nice for the expressway and around town. but stop and go traffic it used to get up to 225+ insane.

They either have a very efficient drivetrain or someone is telling little lies about the power. I was scratching my head wondering how a heavier car with an auto and 3.07 gears can be that even to a lighter 3.73 geared MN6 car with 20 more flywheel hp. Those Challengers are probably going to dyno damn near 400 to the tire with a MN6!

The GC SRT8's even run better 0-60 and 60 foot times but are slower at higher speeds. Heck I have been looking at used CTS-V's damn now I will start looking at used SRT8's!

Damn emissions it reminds me of how hot my Northstar Caddies used to run!

well, im gonna say they are probably a little underrated. even if the cai gave me 20 rwhp thats 360rwhp stock. if you figure 18% loss @ 420 hp thats only 344rwhp. so it may be closer to the 440 mark stock than 420. now if you dyno at full operating temperature it may be 420 fwhp

as far as being efficient? probably not. its a heavy duty benz 5 speed trans. built to handle the power of the AMG55 benzs which put out way more torque than ours. with that you have the IRS, and big *** 20" wheels (29.5" dia). pretty big brakes to turn as well.

Maybe its got less than typical drivetrain losses? The 400 hp CTS-V's put about 350 or so RWHP to the ground out of 400 FW thru a MN6. Yeah thats the one thing that sucks about autos is that the dyno #'s don't usually tell the whole story. Which is one reason I would rate the track well above the dyno for a reference point.
