I am curious, not being an *** about why you went with a 4G64 instead of stroking the 4G63? Do you have stock internals?

A 4g64 with stock bore/stroke is more than a stroked 4g63. The crank is stock, the rods and pistons are not. The torque gain is like going from a 350 to a 454.

Torque is what wins races and makes cars funner to drive, as any V8 owner knows.

Clever

You're the one that invalidated my opinion on anything automotive because one of my cars happens to be a 90 Talon. Like I've never driven, built, or been around high powered v8's, yet I choose the Talon as my DD to keep up with, or beat them for a 1/4 of the money they've dumped in their cars. The only guys around me I won't be contending with soon are my friends dad and brother, both work at Ford and building cars for the last 20/30 years. Yet they still respect what dsms are capable of.

So if the 4G64 is 2.4L and the stroker 4G63's are 2.3L how is it that big of a difference? I am just curious, if you switched out your stock engine to gain a little bit of displacement it seems a bit extreme.

4G63s are 2L. A 4G63 block with a 4G64 crank is a stroker (88MM to 100MM) and thats a 2.3L. A 4G64 block and crank is often called a stroker when in fact its just a 4G64. Its common to put the 4G63 head on there (it bolts right up) and use a couple OEM components from a '94 DOHC Galant to make it all work.

4G63s are not your average Honda. They tend to have very nice TQ curves in general terms and very level ones compared to other 4 bangers. Hondas and others tend to have heads that are more suited to top end flow and higher compression meaning less boost and less midrange but sometimes more top end.
