I didn't say it would or it wouldn't... I only said I wouldn't agree because I DON'T KNOW which one would be...

Do you? You actually know? Please, do tell.

Concerning the new GTR, that's a great new time I haven't read yet... When was that recorded? I can't believe I missed it.

Can it keep it that way for release here? I hope so because I DO like the car and it will have MUCH competition from the upcoming Vipers and Vettes (...SS... ).

So why would a N/A engine come from the factory engineered for forced induction? Of course a turbo car is going to be already built for boost. If I was just interested in how much boost I could brag about I would put a Duramax into my Vette!

Some forget what the LS engines do better than most its what allows the Vette to gain features but not gain weight. Its designed for its power density. There are very few engine that weigh and have the physical size of the LS motors and are able to put out the power that they do.

Seems obvious to me!!!

I mean, I can see how wonderful motors like the R26DETT are and everything they do right...

What the approach of the LS is, instead, is just as obvious to me and... Hey, it works!!! Z06 is doing its job just fine and dandy across the world if only you open up your eyes and decide to see!

The time was recorded a few months a go, I can't remember what magazine listed it. Also most peoople don't realize that the C6 that lapped the nurburbring in 7.40 seconds was a supercharged blue devil driven by Corvette’s Le Mans class-winning driver Jan Magnussen. As a side note one of the C6R winning drivers also used to be a winning driver for Nissan with the IMSA 300ZX, Johnny O'Connell.

the car that was at nurinburg was not supercharged. i am sure all the cars driven at the ring for times they are going to publish are driven by professional drivers. also in most of the class' the vettes compete in they are restricted. in lemans if you win to many races they start penalizing you by adding weight to the car. i remember watching a race and they were talking about how the vettes had an 150lbs because they had won the last race and the aston martins didnt have the handy cap. i believe it was last season i saw this. i dont think aston martin is participating this year.

the c5 started in 97 and by 2000 its kinks were worked out pretty well. i am willing to bet a 99 or 2000 c5 would give the same year model gtr a very good race stock to stock. you had frc vettes of those years that were lighter and handled better than your average vette

"BLUE DEVIL (Z06-R, Z06-SS) pulls a 7 min 40 sec lap that is being reported and has been confirmed to have been done by the blue devil. And it is also confirmed the blue devil has a 600bhp supercharged version of the new Z06 engine:"Dubbed the ‘blue devil’ by GM insiders, and caught here setting an impressive 7min 40sec lap of the Nürburgring in the hands of Corvettes Le Mans class-winning driver Jan Magnussen, the car will be positioned to take on some of the world's most highly-respected supercars, according to General Motors product guru, Bob Lutz."

And basically all motorsport races are done that way, the GTR was also forced to add weight penalties through out its racing career numurous times.

Christ, people are STILL saying the Blue car at the ring was supercharged? All because some knucklehead heard the car and said "gee, that sounds supercharged!."

It was a C6 Z06. NOT a blue devil. I have this confirmed from damn near as high a source as possible, same person who confirmed a 427 for the C6Z while it was still being discussed to death on forums months before it happened.
