You should slaughter him easily. I ran a 97 stang gt with my 91 z28 that has a ls1 in it that is stock. He had a exhaust on his car and a miss. After we both stopped spinning I jumped about 4 or 5 car lengths ahead of him. My current exhaust is really restrictive too, can't wait to get my new headers and exhaust on the car.

But you gotta admit that the mustang owner should know what his car can/cant do. Unless you wanted to make it competitive, he could have easily just admitted his car would likely not be faster than the ws6. Most guys I've met with cars, generally, are humble. It's just a car.

If I was in the same situation, I'd be willing to admit I was slower than a mustang I knew was faster. I'd think anyone could appreciate a faster car. The guys at the store are the douches here. The pontiac/ford owners probably would have, if anything, just had a convo about cars instead of a call-out session done by third-parties.

I dont know. But If it's a pre-99' GT, with a cam and good tires. and the ws6 is gonna have the same tires with what? b0lt-on's maybe more? I'm not sure on the trans am's mods, but sounds like the pontiac would likely win.

If I was a betting man, and this is all the information I knew on both cars, I'd put my money on the pontiac.

 

And if that Mustang guy is a betting man then he would love people like you. I've been asked what was done to my Cobra before and said a 6psi supercharger and turn downs and that same night went and ran in the 10's at the 1/4th on a shitty 60'. Its called "hustling" someone. And tell me why someone with a 96-98 GT would only change out one CAM. and not both the CAMS.

my take is that hes saying, the mustang owner was put in a position by the shop guy.
He then proceeded to act the part,regardless of his cars power.
now take the shop guy out of the equation.
the two would have chatted and been cool,most likely.

 

no i seriously ment good luck. he should have no problem with a cammed 97 gt. not many things would have a problem. and from the sound of it the gt owner is a tool. But when i originaly read the post the OP seemed kinda arrogant thats all. and as for the "woosta" comment i actually hate it here and dont even hang around in the city so i dont really know where your goin with that. as for the troll comment. yes i own i mustang but i also have a great deal of respect for ls1 based vehicles. the majority of kids i hang around with happen to have ls1 cars. I am not bias between ford or gm i like both i just happen to own a ford. unlike some *** hats that are on this site that think that gm's will never lose. i may not post a lot in the tech sections but i do a lot of reading. who knows maybe the next car i own will be ls1 based. hope that answeres your questions chief

 

Chill dude, I think all he is trying to say is that as general rule an LS1 TA is faster than a 97 GT. Nothing personal, we all know that there are exceptions to the rule.
