Default Just raced my Dad's 97 WS6 TA

Well, we had just washed our cars, mine is a 93 formula with flowmasters, hypertech chip, and K&N (really light mods) and my dads is a 97 TA WS6 convertible (about 300 made), both are autos. I asked him to race me out on this industrial road that is practically empty. I was almost out of gas if the weight difference had anything to do with it. My car has less miles and my dad's car needs some sparkplugs in the near future just to give you guys all the details.

The First Race

My dad got the jump and gained about half a car, after about 30 mph I started ever so slowly reeling him in. By 80-90 I was even with him, then we shut down.

The Second Race

We were launching off of a little bit of dirt on the road so my dad didn't punch it at first for fear of smoking the tires so that might have had an influence on the outcome, because I just punched it. His nose was on my bumper by 80.

I feel kind of bad about beating him, he's all depressed about his car saying he's going to sell it and get a new Challenger, which I wouldn't mind but his car is sweet and soon to be collectible. Probably shouldn't have raced him, I just wanted to compare cars but I didn't want to deflate his pride in his car.

Good runs... Speed Density for the win

Tell him not to feel bad, just start modding

i doubt it, it was the first year i don't know factually but based on instict i would say the first year would be the slowest and the 97's would be quicker, i could be wrong thoug.

ahh I had the same car Bright red/tan leather!!, 100% truth , K&N filter ,descreened maf, mac headers magnaflow hiflo-cat/ cat back, 3000 yank and a tune. I ran 13.00 4 f-ing times. If I had a set of drag radials I would easily been in the 12's he can do that for $1,500 or so and be faster than a new challenger.

Race sounds right to me. Your light mods along with his extra poundage = you win. Just explain it to him like that.

Exactly. Nice races. Tell him that for the price difference between what he would get for his car and what he would buy the new Challenger for, he can make that Vert leave you like you're standing still! Haha, and then throw some nitrous on and leave him behind again.

Really? Thats impressive. I don't think my dad should mod his car though, cause a nice stock one of those has got to be a car show hit in the future. Perhaps just get a Challenger as a daily driver and stop putting miles on his beautiful car. I would still rather have his car than mine, cause hey, speed isn't everything, although it is nice
