Default First import loss....ever :(

Dang well this is not a good story for me...but i got killed by a 240Sx. This guy had a turbo on his car running 15psi and other mods that made him haul ***, my car is mainly stock. I was on the freeway when i see him getting next to me, so im like ok he wants to race we go from a 60mph roll and i took his car but just by a nose, i was thinking "damn did i mess up my car" because it was the first time and import was able to hang with me like that.. we do it again and same result i edeged him out by a nose ...so he tells me to pullover and chat...we do and he tells me that he has a turbo and the only reason i beat him is because he was running low boost...i told him to show me what he gots...so we go out the freeway again and this time we go from a 35mph roll my car really sucks at this launch, i got killed twice when his 240sx put a car lenght on me on both take offs and was never able to catch up... I was dissapointed but just made me realize i need more power maybe something to help me on low mph launches...

You win some you loose some! And it's just like you said, time to get some more mods!

No shame in loosing to a quick car, no matter where it came from originally

Probably an SR20 motor in the 240sx.. on 15-16lbs of boost with supporting mods they will make around 290-310rwhp and about the same torque so they do about what a stock LS1 does but the car is lighter.

No shame in that slight loss, mod time

I would say that it may be a turbo leak on your part but u have no turbo.

I would say that it was a slipping clutch, but you have an a4.

I would say that he has twice the displacement...but that's you.

Damn i'm out of ricer excuses...you just got owned. Buy some more mods....

if you have a stock A4 you need to find out what gear you have. if you have the 2.73, a 35 roll is death for you. first thing you need to do is get a gear. either a 3.42 or 3.73 IMO. good death, but with a gear at that speed, you probably would have taken him

Well apparently it wasn't an "excuse" since he appeared to back that statement up...

I had a 91 240SX, RWD posse, 5 Speed with Super HICAS (All Wheel Steer),155hp (stock) 2.4L.
Little bastard only weight 2200 pnds, and the motor kicked out 155hp/160tq (Flywheel)
They are quick little cars and with an SR20 swap can see 240-320 Rwhp pretty easy.

Valiant death, 240's are not the average import.

How was this guy a ricer? You do realize that the term "ricer" describes a mentality of the driver, not an import. I have seen just as many riced out domestics as I have imports. This is the typical ignorant crap that gives other domestic owners bad names.

Oh, and its not an excuse if HE BACKS IT UP.

Good death. The 240sx can easily be a fast car. RWD, light weight, good chassis, and will accept almost any motor. Most weigh around 2700 in full trim, and the LS1 is actually lighter than the motor in it.

Imagine one with a modded LSx.

Add a lid, LT's, stall and a 150 shot and go find him again

actually a stall converter would would work better than new gears

98LS1blackonblack, I agree. I think a tune with 373 gears would be an easy fix for some more power, just for a while, then you'll want more.

35 roll you must have the 323 option.when my car was stock with the 2.73s anything below 50mph was 1st gear territory shifting to second at 60.put some 373s in it.
IMO on a turbo car with smaller displacement 15psi is low boost.thats barely breaking 1 bar.
