Saleen Mustang 101 (just the basics):

S281: Appearance and handling (racecraft) package. Steve Saleen is a left and right guy.
S281SC: Supercharger added to stock internal engine, 5 lbs of boost, racecraft suspension. Pretty fast depending on year.

S281E: Motor has forged internals, serious boost, BIG brakes, Panhard bar and some other goodies. Z06-like performance.

Half of the "saleen mustangs" on the road have only Saleen parts added.

Good kill.
I agree with you on that....except the New edge SC281s are not 'pretty fast' IMHO. They only dyno low 300s. THat paired with the added weight and 3.27 (unless optioned for saleen 3.73s) make them a low 13 sec car stock..at best. Matched nicely with a N/A 4V or LS1.

I agree with the new edge comment. I've driven a few stock ones. I was just trying to educate those not familiar with Saleen mustangs. A stock or near stock LS1 should not tangle with a tuned s197 S281SC thinking it's slow...I owned an 05 and now have an 06 S281E with a nice tune.

Yep....S197s are a different bread. Saleen chargers are nice

I agree completely. On a completely different note, do you guys know anything about the Roush Mustangs? I'm curious because the other day when I was riding in my friend's purple Jeep (the POS with purple flames) we saw a 06-07 Roush Mustang, and I was wondering if they are available in appearance packages because I couldn't hear anything out of his exhausts. It looked good though.
