Default Amg E55???

How fast are AMG E55's, I was messing around with one today, and I couldn't get traction and I still was hanging with it pretty well. We didn't really get any races in it was just a couple punches here and there, couldn't really tell how i stacked up..it seemed pretty fast though.

Depending on the year of the model, they're faster than a stock LS1 F-body. From a dig its not as bad for us, but at highway speeds it gets ugly.

Motor trend got a stock '03 to run 12.39 @ 116. With 516 ft/lb at 2650 rpm I'd say they can get out of the hole pretty well. They're beasts, I'll pick one up some day.

I've run a few. Nothing from a dig, because the Benz tranny's are really conservative. Most people with Benz's just stomp on the gas and hope for the best. I work the hell out of the shifter on mine, to actually get the power out of the heavy beast.

Now, on the freeway, that's a different story. When rolling, they can be trouble. Oh and don't get me started on the CLS AMG. That fricken thing ran me down on the 5 and I couldn't catch it, even post 120mph!

You'd get annihilated in a real race, most likely

An E55 AMG will walk a lid/exhaust LS1 car, I know from experience. I tangled with one in my 99 Z28 when I was mostly stock, it wasn't pretty.

I figured he would beat me, I just don't understand why he wasn't really pulling at all on me even with me sideways lol. Maybe a bad driver?

I was at Atco two weeks ago and actually saw an E55 (06 I think) run 12.0-12.3 @111-113. Those cars are fast!!! He had BFG drag radials.

Higher the speed the harder he will pull. If you could barely hang with it from a dead stop he would hurt your feelings at freeway speeds.

Yup, I can attest to that.

You'll need to get the jump and hope that he runs out of ***** before he runs you down. That's what happen to me and an M5... (man, I wish I had that one on tape).

Buddy of mine ran 12.5 at 111 mph 100% bone stock at the same drag strip that my auto C5 ran 13.5 at 103 mph bone stock...It took my auto C5 378rwhp to trapp the same 111 mph his auto e55AMG trapped at the same strip ,So yea id say their pretty fast.

He recently raped a 420 rwhp GTO with it on a roll race pretty good

They don't scare me, my brothers CL600 puts up similar #'s but because of the torque advantage its a beast from a roll. Damn its crazy what these stock sedans are able to run would not mind a CLS63 myself!
