You can reach a semi-happy medium. Mine handles fairly well (still needs SFCs), and the ride doesn't beat you up too bad. It's not C5 smooth, but I'm not bouncing all over the place. And I don't "love Mustangs," for the record. I like certain ones.

Well I love all Mustangs, pretty much my blood runs blue. However I am realistic. My 5.0 handles better than a C5 but rides 5 times worse than a 67 Fastback.

To me a great if not best example of an all around great car would be a 997 Turbo Porsche. It would be hard to top that car.

One pretty good way to check if it's even a real Cobra is to look at the front brake calipers. They should say 'Cobra', and it shouldn't be handwritten in White-Out (which I did see once).

The best way would be to look at the tail lights since this was a 01 or so.

Wouldn't the best thing to do be to look at the rear bumper? '99 says "Mustang" and '01 says "Cobra," right?

there was a sweet sleeper at new england dyno last fall. 03 GT 650rwhp it was dirty it had all factory gt exterior right down to the bullet wheels. it looked like a stock lowered gt with pipes on it. and the cam lope in it wasnt radical. thats my kinda ride

At first I didnt like the inserts. I liked the fact that especially with black that someone really had to look at it to know it was a Cobra (lol so much for that)

A lot. Mine put down 367 rwhp stock. That makes it well over the 390 flywheel hp that is advertised. You didn't run a 03-04 because it would have been ugly for you. Good kill though.

Yep I have had people tell me mine wasn't a real Cobra, got a good laugh out of that!

And IMO I thought mine had a pretty good ride/handling balance with the IRS.

I would figure yours to be one of the more potent ones. Some more, some less; just like any vehicle. That's why I said ish to leave room for the higher and lower ones. When they first came out I read a dyno test in Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords, it put down 372. I read a couple years later in the same magazine where they put a meth kit on one to test, it's baseline was 342. Just an estimate, not bad for a GM guy!

That looks 10x better in my opinion. There is a black Termi in town with the red overlays that looks pretty good. Definitely one of the first appeance mods needed on those cars.

I like the tag in the second pick also
