They are really held back by the non LSD rear ends, was BMW smoking LSD when they decided that??
And your forgetting the point the 335 is not a sports car or muscle car, its a reasonably fast 4 door with some luxury.

but on the real, that type of hp should should not require 2 turbos. i hope the stock engine can make it past 450 safely. that bmw v6 without turbos is probably comparable to the older 350z engine. sad.

I personally think it's pretty impressive for 2 small turbos on a 3 liter motor. There's a reason that motor won awards this year.

Picked it up in Munich on European Delivery in April.

They weren't smoking - they only put LSDs in M cars.

BTW my last one was an 01 330Ci M Sport package, and it was a whole lot of fun to drive!

I guess I'm not old school enough to think that sports cars can only be 2 seaters. To me BMWs GT car is the 6 series.
So you know how they handle clearly, but I drove both a 330 (friends) and then the 335 - the acceleration is night and day different. Stock for stock it's a little more than a second faster in the 1/4 mile, however the torque in the 335 is just sick even without tuning. 300 ft/lb at 1400 rpm out of an inline 6 (most cars dyno almost this amoutn at the wheels stock). To me that's more than reasonably fast. Also someone has already released a LSD solution for the car, not too pricey either compared to everything else for this car.
With Procede and next with Procede 2.0 it's really going to suprise some people and after you are done suprising people you can still drive your folks to church in it.

Being a GT car isn't half bad and truth be told there are alot of GT cars that perform better than the 335 and are still considered GT cars. I like the 335i and have considering adding it or a 535i to the stable. To me my 330Ci was dog slow, and maybe I am jaded but I consider mid 13's to only be reasonably fast.

If you do add the 535 to your stable make sure to do a Euro Delivery. The experience is worth it alone, not to mention the ~10% savings if you choose the right dealership/CA.

that car has a ton of potential, bi turbo powering a strong inline 6 motor.
Off the show room floor i dont think it is as good/fast as it should be though for being a german sports sedan.
I wouldnt worry about racing him, you should just fine.

Nope by purists definition a 911 is a GT car, the Boxster or Cayman are sports cars though. I am not saying I neccesarily agree I am just saying what the purists definition is.
I think alot of it comes down to the cars intended purpose, Mercedes with the SLR and Ferrari with the 599 GTB consider both those cars even though they are 2 seaters GT cars.

There are alot of people that will say a car with rear seats is not a sports car. But then again the 911's rear seats are so tiny its arguable. And if you read my post you will see that I agree that it should be based on the manufacturers purpose for the car and not the # of seats. Arguably the 599 GTB and SLR are better at being sports cars than the 911 is.
