Of course I'm talking factory, not aftermarket.

As for dyno racing...as this thread seems to have become lately...

98-00 LS1s typically dyno a bit lower than 01/02 LS1s. No matter which it is, what the actual rear wheel number ends up being depends on a lot of things, including the dyno itself, the correction factor used (STD will read ~3% higher than SAE, and no correction at all could be much higher or much lower), how well the weather instruments (mainly temp & barometer) are calibrated, and the state of tune of the car. Of course, it also depends upon the type of dyno (dynojet, load-bearing, etc).

From what I have seen, on a dynojet, and using only manual tranny cars, 98-00 LS1s typically put down ~290-300 RWHP. 01/02 cars perhaps 10 more. I've seen some down as low as 280 RWHP, and as high as 320 RWHP (maybe even one or two more, don't remember exactly).

99/01 Cobras typically make 270-275 RWHP. Mach 1s about the same. 96-98 Cobras 260-265. 99-04 GTs ~225. Stock 96-98 GTs barely register (sorry, couldn't resist).
Double post.

This is your post! Where you did say that 96-98's were slower than a 5.0 five speed car. Right? So you are saying a late 80's model 5.0 fox body with like 200hp and 2900lbs at the flywheel could out run a 96-98 GT? Not likley. Seems like you cant relate information very well either. Hell your the one who said that stupid mess not me. I will believe that race when i see it!

This is EXACTLY what I'm saying. Not likely? there is hardly a power difference, and quite a weight difference. Power is not everything bud. I dunno why thats so stupid?

That is exactly correct.

From 1987 to 1992, Fox Body 5.0s were rated at 225 HP (93 was the same motor, but rated at 205). Curb weight varied, as you could option them more than later years, but 2950-3150 lbs would be fairly representative.

96/97 GTs were rated at 215 HP, and 98s at 225 HP. Typical curb weight was 3250-3325 lbs.

Do the math. If you can.

Furthermore, back as far as 1988, bone stock, lightweight coupes had hit 13.9s (Car Illustrated, Spring 88 Edition, and my own 88 got very close to that back 'in the day'). Never, ever have I heard of a 96-98 doing that.

I seen the numbers somewhere and cannot find it. There were several black ones that were on ebay that I had seen a while back. I know that one was real for a fact, it was documented and had a link to the webpage that I cannot find. It sold for 17k. I cannot remember the actual production number but it was more than 3. I had also seen one of those american muscle car shows that was all about Camaro's and it said the production number on there also.

You're not telling me anything that I already don't know. MY CAR
IS SLOW....GET THE POINT??? How many times do I have to say it.
It's a gosh damned street car. BUT...10's @ 130's are ok for
a street car on blower and a 17" drag radial. I'll have to get a
nitrous pass in sometime soon.

...and a 700rwhp car is nothing special. I understand that. Apparently
you don't. 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 second cars are all slow to me. Your boy
running his mouth about Mustangs while he's driving a hunk of ****
14 second car doesn't make any sense.

Having a buddy with a fast car doesn't mean ****. Here's a good
friends car:

http://www.livernoismotorsports.com/...nMillen693.wmv

That is a real car. You don't see him here calling out your big bad
700rwhp car do you? Maybe you should drop everything in your life
and drive 1,000 miles to race my friend. Sounds pretty ******* stupid
doesn't it? Give me a break.

Sticking a fork in this one...
