Default Me vs. 99 or 2001 cobra..not sure

I was out on my normal Sunday cruise lookin for some races, when I come across a nice-looking cobra sitting at a stop light. So naturally I pull next to him, give him a wave/rev/smile. I said "how about a 30 roll?" he nods and we get up to about 30, i give the universal honks and for once I actually DEAD-HOOKED, well he hooked pretty well himself but by 2nd gear he was at my front tire, through second he actually started to pull back up even with me, once I hit 3rd I started to walk away pretty slowly until about 100 and he was at my door.

So we get up to the next stop light and he asked for a race from a dig, so I was like alright. I rev it up to about 2500 rpms, he out-launches me pretty good by about a car so I'm playing catch up. We got up to about 85 mph and I was gaining on him very slowly and i made it up to his front fender, then we had to let off due to traffic.

I asked him at the next light what he had done and he had exhaust/cai/and gears is what he said. Gave a wave and I was on my way.

Other than available colors, there are very few differences between the 99 and 01 Cobra. Easiest way to tell is the rear bumper: If it says "MUSTANG", its a 99. If it says "COBRA", its an 01. Either way, performance is about the same.

Good run. Be safe.

Yep doesn't take much at all for them to beat a bolt on LS1. If he would have had his intake ported good it would have been bye-bye.

You're lucky that cobra had his spare in the back, otherwise it would of been bye-bye for you!!

Nice kill!

Having a lid/exhaust hardly counts as a bolt on LS1.

Yep what dumbass? I beat him and my car is far from a bolt-on LS1. And he did have bolt-ons so apparently it does take "much"

Great race with 2 fast cars.

"Ifs", "wouldas" and "couldas" don't apply... that's ricer-like crap.

It may have made it a better race, but adding ported intake isnt going to take him from getting beat in a close race to blowing the other guys doors off.

There are a lot of cool cobra owners on this site, and I welcome all the car guys that want to be here, but I get so sick of the handful of mustang guys that talk **** everytime one of their own gets beat.

Give the guy a ported intake, i'll just go from a higher roll and kick his *** worse.

A ported intake makes a ton of difference in these cars in the high rpms where they shine at anyways.

Sorry, but a ported intake on an otherwise stock motor is a waste of time. Been there, done that. Just my opinion - but it comes from experience.
