Riced by an Evo! Hey guys got some racing in last night. I raced a friend of mine because he's always talking about how he hates a Camaro and TA's. Heres the jist however.... I wanted to run froma dead stop, he refused to do that. He asked me not to Spray him because he said he was stock....so I agreed. He wanted to run from a 60mph roll (who the hell does that?)...and the stretch of road we were on was only like an 1/8 mile. So I humor him and we run up to 60 and I can hear a massive BOV sound as he feathers his fuel, and I realize his probably making mad amounts of boost, so he honks 3 times an we dig! He pulls 2 cars on me right off!! By the time the road goes into the "stop" zone, I have pulled back up to his door....so he beat me by less than half his car. So...we do this once more...and same result.
I told him that I didn't like racing form 60 and I want to race from 15 or 20 mph......and he really really don't want to but he eventually agrees. So we line up at 20 and he honks 3 times and we dig again! This time I spin like a motherf*cker and get a little sideways, but I've pulled a car on him at this point. So I feather a bit and get back in the saddle and at the "stop" zone I've still got him by a car and a half. He called it cheating...but I called it common knowledge.
After that he won't race again. He does grin at me and saya "look under my hood".....and I found a nicce TurboXs boost controller, a big BOV and an Apexi controller and some clappy sounding exhaust. I ask him is that all.....and he says..."nope...it's a secret".
Before we parted...he looked dead at me and then at my Z and said...."I told you that I'd smoke that piece of ****".
What the f*ck???

All ricers want to race like this. I got called out by a Nissan 300 ZX with the twin turbo. He wanted to go from a 70 roll. I said "WHAT?????" Who races from 70??? I told him I only go from a dig or a very low roll if he had traction problems. No way would I have accepted that. You just let him get in his powerband. Those guys like inventing there own style racing that is good for them. That is the only way they are going to beat American Muscle cars. They just do not have the Torque!!! Plain and simple....and torque is what accelerates you!

No offence OP, but your buddy is a tool. When you call someone out, you should not have any terms or conditions for the race. WTF is he racing a stock EVO from a roll anyway?
They are honestly very lethargic stock from a roll. You would put a couple bus lengths on him easy if you did a 60-120mph run. He actually would give you a much better race (if he can drive worth ****) from 0-100mph...unless you spray him.
I do not agree with this at all and any person with understanding of Physics would agree with me.

Personally I would have slack your buddy back in to reality. Who the F*** runs an AWD from a 60mph unless you are running a GT42R that doesn't spool till 5500rpm.
If all the room I had was 1/8 mile I'd be asking for a dig race. Hell for the 1st 1/8 mile a stock EVO would/could beat a lot of cars. After that 1/8 it's a different story.
Take your friend out for drink and get drunk.. Then
