They still have 4.6 in GTs.One of the only real changes to the engine are the 3v heads.

and if anyone is curious as to what kind of power they make in stock form, I watched a 2005 GT A4 stock down to the paper filter put down 256rwhp on a dynojet.

Yep.....and the M5s are 260-270. They just have no upper powerband.

You don't own an LS1, you haven't mentioned anything about buying one and you're not making any contributions or doing any research or learning here so news flash, YOU'RE A TROLL.

My first ever posts on this forum were in the For Sale section in regards to a few F-bodies on here that I was looking at buying. And I've said a few times (hell, a few times in the past month) that I was looking for a WS6 or GTO in the first place.

The most overlooked aspect of the s197s is the chassis.I know two loyal ford guys who feel like the fox,sn-95 and new edge needed an overhaul. They say its the best mustang chassis ever, all around.Does anyone think ford makin the Gt's a little slower,is a way to fuel aftermaket sales?I sure do

skidpad numbers? who cares? it's real life performance that matters. are you a benchracer? because you're quoting magazines to me. in real life, i GUARANTEE a corvette is significantly more aerodynamic than the brick on wheels that is the sN197 mustang.

i'm biased? you're the biased one, here. you're defending a car that got its butt handed to it strictly because you're a mustang driver/fan. believe it or not, i actually like new edge mustangs. i like '03-'04 cobras. i think the ford 302 was one of the best sounding engines ever made, along with a 4V 4.6L. i'm just pointing out REALITY here, which some of you are escaping, here.

roush = overpriced junk. this guy would have been much better off buying a GT and supercharging it himself. not only do i bet it would be a lot faster, but he probably would have saved money as well.
You like to argue huh? I was just stating some facts, not quoting magazines...my posts were my own words based on my opwn experience. I was just saying that the "fat heavy pigs" move out pretty damn well and do better than anticipated on road courses. Information for the thread...not directed at you. I doubt you knew these FACTS based on your close-minded bias that is reflected in your posts.

a lot of people may come in and say "but the 4V 4.6L is a better FI motor." well, a forged internals LS1 can perform just as well as a 4V 4.6L and it's a helluva lot better N/A giving the edge to the LS1 still

i'm busting your *****, man. take it easy, it's an internet forum. i don't bite

Ok let's start over...assuming that you are a legit forum member (and I doubt that looking at your sig etc), your "legit" question has no definitive answer unless you were trying to refer to Roush stage 1-3 mustangs. Most V8 cars have 2V (2 valves) per cylinder. Ford mod motor cars have overhead cam designs. S197 (05-up) mustangs have 3V heads with exception of the GT500 Shelby which is a 4V 5.4 motor which is an iron block version of the aluminum GT motor. 03-04 Cobras have 4V heads and double overhead cams as do 03-04 Machs and earlier cobras. The 03-04 Cobras have forged internals and FI. Stock or modified? How much boost?

An ignorant, smart-*** question gets an ignorant, smart-*** answer. Your question (if legit) needs more definition for a legit answer. If you were serious, I apologize. It didn't come across as serious.

Well, since the thread was about a "Roush supercharged" mustang I didn't think my question was to far off topic. Since no gm f bodies ever came with a 3v head or a (factory)supercharger, I figured everyone knew what my question was about.

...as for my sig... it is a obvious mockery of people who list pointless, non power-adding mods, to try to sound cool.

ok... As for the Roush cars (not to be confused with Saleen Mustangs), The S197 cars all have 3v heads (of course). The stage 1 is strictly a visual package (GT with body kit). Stage 2 adds suspension upgrades. Stage 3 adds a Roush charger and therefore ups the HP rating. Cut and Paste from the Roush site:

Stage 2 ROUSH Mustang - Including the exclusive styling of the ROUSH Stage 1 package, plus ROUSH's new advanced suspension and handling package.

Stage 3 ROUSH Mustang - Including all the elements of what a ROUSH Mustang can be - power, handling, and styling. In addition to the handling and styling components of the Stage 1 and 2 packages, the ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang includes the ROUSHcharged 4.6L powertrain system producing 415hp/385lb-ft.

Stage 3 ROUSH Mustang BlackJack - ROUSHcharged with 430 horsepower, this vehicle stalks the roads with 18-inch ROUSH wheels and billet aluminum trim. This is an extremely limited run with only 100 Stage 3 BlackJack vehicles built exclusively for the discerning driver looking for a unique ride.

427R ROUSH Mustang - Based on the acclaimed ROUSH Stage 3 Mustang, this version is slightly less in content but includes 100 percent of the fun factor. The 427R horsepower package is highlighted by the intercooled ROUSHcharger* system which adds 115 horsepower and 65 lb-ft of torque to the base Ford 4.6L, 3-valve V8 powertrain system.

ROUSH Mustang Roadster - The ROUSH Roadster is a custom painted, two-toned cruiser intended for those who want to drop the top, feel the wind blowing through their hair, and watch the world as they cruise by.

They are nice cars, but none are "holy crap" strip performers...
