If youre going to be spraying and you want to change the cam you would at least have to upgrade the valve springs. I seen an ls6 cam in the fs section for $140. I'm not sure what the specs are on it though.

just promise you're going to put something between you and the engine. especially with you spraying it, could end very badly. I know this is sortof a "duh" statement but I've seen people run stuff that is much less safe than that.

ok so ***** getting confidential, he's not letting out what else has been done, but from a 3rd party ive heard its boosted, and im pretty sure the budget is out on both ends. this makes me nervous b/c

1. S/C 5.4= GT40 powerplant
2. my ride is still a wagon with a turbine
3. he will most definately spray on the roll races
4. if i break 130mph i will taste my blood
5. i just got a ticket for 59 in a 50, and i know if i get pulled over in the 'vette i will most likely run and probably die, again
6. the stang supposedly is on a big diet
7. i cant find a big brake setup that fits
8. hes almost done, which means im almost 1 chevette less
9. im almost positive that a 150 shot on this setup will break the sound barrier
10. i just realized that the rear end is a 3.08 final drive.....and the tranny is a 4L60-E, which means 180 is touchable...****

it will have plenty of firewall, i think im going to use a firewall from a 88 IROC, and narrow and cut it. its heavy enough to keep the fron end down, thick enough to stop shards of metal, and is a GM part...weve agreed to use only factory produced parts, aside from fab parts.( i.e my whole car )

BADASS bro!!! keep the pics coming! Dont worry about him either, the LS1 with a 150 shot is pretty decent in a stock weight car, let alone dropping 1000 pounds.........

I was actually looking for a chevette to do this exact project. I can't wait to see the video. Just curious, where do you find chevettes for sale? Looked at ebay and autotrader and came up with nothing. Sorry for the hijack, but you've got me all fired up to go for it. BTW scary fast is just right. Spray Away.

Talk about resourceful, definitely want to see the end! And do tell where you come by an ls1 in a day in under your budget (how much)?

well, i had an entire motor less shortblock, from the SS when the bottom end grenaded. i sold the rails, TB, and WP, so i had a complete motor pretty much, less the block, rods, and crank, so i bought a shortblock for 600 at a local scrapyard, and bolted away.

btw, if anyone sees a cheap LS1 around let me know, i think i have another idea...

LS1 chevette
LS1 monza

thatd be a perfect pair, and both built for under 5K

My bro races his Monza every weekend, around 600rwhp, I like it, haha. Looks kind of like a turtle goin down the track. Weighs in right at 2600lbs, backhalf car with a 2speed glide and SBC. This chevette should be pretty crazy.
