Default betting for pinks

so i got this buddy of mine who decides to make me an offer, we're building budget rides for under 2500 and running a dig-150ish, a 40 roll and a 60 roll, whoever takes the win(s) gets the other persons ride.

so far he has a ragged *** 90 lx, 5.0 5 speed he payed 1200 for, hes got 1300 left and is convinced he will take it.

ive got an 81 chevette chassis with a narrowed 9 inch and 26x12.50 DR's, i have 400 bucks in the ride so far, and with 2100 left over im looking for a solid stock ls1 to spray with a th400 that i have in the shed....my goal is a win by bus lengths, what do you guys think?

video will be posted, and pics are soon

if your going for budget, dont waste a good ls1 on that little turd... just drop a sbc in it for the race. if you want to make it a fun weekend car, then invest a little more and put the LS1 in it.

im betting on the chevette lol. how well will that ls1 fit because i was gonna do it with a older 350 and it was a tight fit. i seen it some where where they fit in a 500 in a chevette.

Go with the SBC like everyone else said no offense to ls1 owners but you can get more hp out of the same money in a sbc that you will put in buying a used ls1..... All i have to say is if you do get beat it will have to be driver error most likely lol. You have a very nice weight advantage plus more power most likely. Just be careful he doesnt spray a very nice size shot and take a chance at blowing his motor to bits since its a beater he probly wont care

3 races, 1 each, id run a pre 1970 sbc, however, if i wanted a carbed motor i have a 468 in the garage ready to go, but i want a dd as well...i figure since i wont lose the car ill have more fun times, it will be a money maker. haha, pics in a minute.
