?????? ?????'s can break into the 13's in stock form. 1000 bucks in one of those and a Camaro SS will be looking at 4-banger tail lights.

No thanks, I think ill stay and enjoy this nice kills section. Its by far the best kill section on any car forum, thats why you see ford guys, import guys, exotic owners showing up from time to time.

I agree somewhat.....I have had first hand experience with a modded skittle.
It launched like running uphill,on gravel.But....once I slipped the clutch right a couple times(1st gear was useless,and most of 2nd)It flew like a ****.
I dont see a cobalt being very different in that department.


Dig race-LS1>skittle,cobalt ss.
>Mod for mod as well.
1320 track-LS1>skittle,cobalt ss.(Got traction?)

Roll race-LS1(Stock m6)>skittle,cobalt ss(Stock)
Modded it gets less favorable for the Fbod.
I have an auto and the same turbo inline-4(quite a few good mods)would hold 1 to 1.5 cars on me from 30,shutting down at 120.Just my take.
From a dig it was me everytime by 2 cars.He would stop my pull and just run dead 2 cars behind the rest of the time.

Sorry for ranting earlier.My eyes burn when LT1s and LS1s get bashed, in favor of the opponents in question.

Yeah and a 1000 bucks in the SS and 4-banger will be looking at a spec on the horizon. Besides stock f-bodies are no fun... too slow. Need at least a cam, exhaust, and a good tune to make em fun...
Of course now I'm beginning to think that is too slow and need to throw a turbo into the mix, or get a C5Z and start all over a again.

**** what can you even get for a grand anymore for a Fbody? Full exhaust and some cheap *** cam? You could buy a kit with it I guess.

they arent fast i raced a full bolt-on cobalt ss had him by 3 and a half cars from by 75(we went from 30)

Yeah it will get shut down soon. This is apples to oranges. owners of these cars (S-T4s) are very cocky but they really have no excuse being that way...there is no replacement for displacement.

Well if you were smart (and lucky) you could score a good full used exhaust pretty cheaply. I woulnd't get a used cam though unless someone was selling a cam that they changed there mind, wanted to get rid of it and never installed it. You could just skip all that and go the easier (and more dangerous route) and use some Nitrous. All this is based off of doing your own work of course, but you could get a mid to low twelve sec. f-body for at least close to a grand if not a little over if you now how to ram the gears.

I guess I haven't ran into a ???? that wasn't more than moderately modified because even the ones who claimed they had some mods went down as soon as I shifted into 2nd gear and just kept fallin back from digs, and 30mph rolls. Those were some cocky bastards too so I enjoyed it.

Its the turbo-swapped cats that you gotta watch.Stock turbo ones can be fast but are limited.
GT30s or 35s can go upwards of 425hp
T3/T04 can also get the job done.400hp+ on pump gas as well.
Ask me how I know......
Down pipes and bigger ICs are cool, but theyre just basic boltons like our fbodies use.

he was probably leing. That is a horrible spot for a race to 30 is the bottom of second like 3k maybe try 45 or 50
