Default 700rwhp+ vortech 408 fox body vs my D1 TA

I'm downloading the vid now. It's at the track but I figured some of you might like it anyway. This was one hell of a race.

I knew his car was putting down more power than mine but we were running close. His best was a 10.31 and my best was a 10.42 so it was going to be a close race. He was on slicks and I was on hoosier QTPs so pretty close to a slick. I was going to have to T him or run my best of the day which I knew was unlikely because the heat. I did end up T-ing him with a .239 r/t but his wasn't bad with a .379. It wasn't quite enough to hold him off. In the end he got me by about a car or two but it's so close it's hard to tell in the vid. One hell of a death to a worthy aponent. My best death to date.
Heres the vid

Crazy cars, one hell of a race. Know I'd be dead with either of them, have to wait till I'm married with kids before getting that much power.

That was a close race! Why are your traps still in the 120's? His were only 127? Did you talk to him? A fox with 700+ should trap way higher than that. Ive seen them with 500rwhp run 10.40's @ 125+ here locally. Just curious?

+1! I put down around 560 rwhp with my 85 fox on motor and run 10.58 @127.5 on ET streets under stock fenders and full weight...full interior (right down to the electric windows) + 10 pt cage.

Nice run in any case.

Sick race. I, too, am curious about the trap speeds, but regardless, that was a great video and a great race!

This was the first time I've had the car out since the procharger. If I remember correctly he said his car has run 9s and pulled 1.3 60s. So my guess to the trap speed questions is weather. It was really hot and humid 85+ as the day went on. My first pass at around 11am was a 10.42 with a 128 trap. It kept getting hotter and the best it would do is 125. I'm guessing in 60 degree weather it should be around 132-134.

Also, I don't know what the da was but I'm in the midwest.

Don't know if that was Byron or not, but the DA at Rockford on Saturday was about 3300'. That would explain some things...

Yep, Byron. That makes me feel even better, I have some good times to look forward to when we have some better weather.
