well, i am gettin the smack talk
from friends of a kid w/ a newer(i'd guess 97ish) four door civic with an h22 motor swap...he has cams, cam gears, head work, and some other stuff i guess(dont know much about 4 cyl performance)....i guess the car puts down 240 hp to the wheels
, and they are all saying it weighs 2200 pounds?(that seems kinda light to me)...so my question is who would win, this civic or do these ricer kids even have a clue?
....im very ignorant on ricer's
my car is in the sig

I dont know mann, if he's got a whole lotta juice and some slicks you might not beat him by much, j/k, if you guys race and he's got street tires, no chance, you've got an extra 100 hp and TRACTION on your side, he'll see what camaro tail lights look like, but if you can get an ls1 dry kit fairly quickly you might want that for insurance, you know they'll blow there motor just trying to beat a v8, check if he's got nos or a large turbo first, but I say you'll take um!!!

h22's are 200 flywheel hp stock i believe so if its modded like they say it could theoretically be a 240whp motor. i doubt the car is that light but it could be a high 12-low 13 second car. with traction you probably wont have to worry about him but i wouldnt sandbag or showboat just to be safe.

why is it that everyone assumes this guy needs turbo/nitrous to win? anyway, if the cars gutted then yes, it could be 2200lbs. just go up to the car and look if hes got stripped interior, if he does then hes most likely real into it and knows what hes doing. if he does infact have the prelude h22 in a car that light, u might have ur hands full.

This is a very curious situtation. You never can tell what truth there is behind the comments of a ricer. Ricers have been known to "adjust" the truth (turn things around to better benifit their cause). One thing that makes me wonder is his friends are the ones doing the trash talking. This could mean he either doesn't care about racing and it's all
or he really is that good. 240 horse is attainable through the H22 motor. I'm not so sure this one has it though. Chances are if it's a 4 door and he is a ricer then his parents probably bought it for him (this means limited funding). The reason I question his buying the 4 door model is one that is really hardcore into racing would've bought the 2 door hatch. Gutting the car is free so doing that is almost expected. The H22 in stock form produces around 180hp. To get to 240 he will need some decent mods. This means either do some serious engine work, slap on the nitrous, or bolt on a turbo. With limited funding this is difficult considering the motor alone will cost around $3,000 uninstalled. If he is a serious runner you will more than likely know it when you see him. I hope you put his friends and possibly him in their place
.

You still should hand his *** to him though even with an h22A. The best time my friend has out of his is an 13.4 with the basic bolt ons. Good luck!

thanks guys, i hope to get a run w/ him soon...im just worried about cops(im 18 and have never been pulled over in my life in any vehicle) and i dont want my insurance to go up as it is very cheap, but all this "he will put bus lengths on you" "you will know his taillights well" etc has to stop, lol...if he wins, good for him, no matter how fast someones car is, there is someone w/ a faster car, but w/ my experience, 95% of ricers are slow, but 5% are pretty fast...also, would u guys race him from a dig or from a roll?...and supposividly he has no nitrous or turbo charger, just headwork and cams i guess...it would be nice to get a nitrous kit just for some insurance though, lol...

If it's NA on street tires and you can drive your car half way decent you'll be fine. My Civic hatch weighs in UNDER 2000 lbs and makes ~260 to the wheels. On slicks it's ran a best of 12.60.
Run him from a dig, imports don't hook at all, especially on the street! Good luck.

Plastic interior panels and a paper-thin honda back seat..yeah, that's how you drop a few hundred pounds of weight. It's an appearance mod.
That car weighs 2500 lbs with the little old 1.6 in it..now put in the monsterous 2.2 liter engine and you've added some weight..probably not a 2700 lbs car, but closer to 2600 than 2200. Now throw in the fact that this is a kid in high school...don't forget about that, guys.
To beat a bolt-on M6 LS1 (with long tube headers) on the street? Please...the guy better be running 116 mph traps NA to offset his traction problems and FWD "launch." It won't be close.
