cobra vs lt1
Theres a guy i now that wants to race me and i was wondering if you guys can tell me if i have a chance of winning, hes car is a 1998 mustang cobra 5 speed with one of those 320 hp engines he has headers cai and a 100 shot of nitrous, my car is a camaro 1994 lt1 m6 with 365 rwhp and 4.10 gears i'm also running stock size 16 inch tires
Some more details are needed, but a 98 Cobra with a 100shot and the normal supporting mods is a stout performer. Should be in the very high 300's rwhp wise, like 380 or so. What mods does you LT1 have to warrant 365 rwhp?

Pending how good the tune is for the spray and his weight will decide if he can reel you in, saying you get the jump.... and you need the jump.
If he wants to race from a roll, race from a dig too... its only fair.

When you have set up races, expecially with friends or aquaintances, alwys make sure YOU have the advantages.
For example I was to race a 95 VR6 Jetta(manual), very very close to my car BUT, I set the time, and I cooled my engine for an hour, seafoamed and changed the oil(hey it made me feel better), iced my intake, removed my jack and spare, and we went from a dead stop. I pulled him 3 cars by 100. Everyone thought he'd win.
Granted the stuff I did isnt what gave me 3 cars, but it as definately a difference and gave me the edge. He had been driving around too so he was all warmed up etc.
Just because his car might be faster on a regular day means nothing really. You win the race and you hve bragging rights.

Ok the race was yesterday , we started from a dead stop, i lower my tires preasure to 18 pounds
1st gear, i left really slow trying to spin the least i could , he had a car on me
2nd gear, now i'm 2 cars behind
3rd gear, 1.5 behind
4th gear ,1.5 behind
I tell the the cobra guy , that i.m having traction issues , that we should try it from a roll , so we star at around 30 mph , we are dead even all the way , but when i make my 3rd to 4th gear change he starts pulling so by the end he had 1.5 cars again , so i guess i just get some tires and a little nitrous , then i will have my revenge
