thats my point for the size of the motor and its supercharged its still a mid 12 sec car but its 4,000lbs still seems a little slow even considering all that and in my area the cheapest you can pic one up is $55,000. where as a fbody has done a 12.9 sec 1/4 stock and it isnt supercharged and isnt anywhere as much in price and it has 150 hp less.

ya, but they have gt500s with minor mods runnin 9s and makin insane hp, lets c a fbody do that, but i do agree overpriced as hell

Its not slow for a stock car at $43k, but at $65k which is what the ones go for around me for the coupes.................no thank you...I would much rather even a non Z06 C6.

Actually for even $50k you can buy a C5 Z06 and KB it and do a forged 346 or even a 402/403....and have money left over for Brembo's and a body kit. I have considered many times buying a GT500 since I work for Ford but can't justify the $65k they cost for how they perform.

for 65k id spend the extra 5 and buy a zo6 c6 and its deff faster than the gt500

i wouldnt really call a built 5.4-4v with cams and ported heads, kenne bell 2.8H twin screw supercharger, twin 75mm throttle body, 1 7/8 long tube headers, evolution performance custom lower pulley, bassani 3 inch catback exhaust, drag slicks, and suspension

minor mods to get in the 9's and that is the setup thats evolution performance is running and they are the first to get in to the 11's, 10's, and 9's. in a gt500

minor mods to get in the 9's and that is the setup thats evolution performance is running and they are the first to get in to the 11's, 10's, and 9's. in a gt500
It's about as "minor" as you're gonna get for a car to run in the 9s

Truest thing ever said, and you have a car thats not a fat pig to start with, and my earlier post was about me...I know some people only buy new...but I already have a C5...and its already faster by quite a bit than a stock GT500.

they were runnin 10s on the factory blower with stock heads and cams, just a pulley tune and some spray, thats minor mods

they did 10.99 on stock blower heads and cam with a stage 1 port job on the heads, now the heads arnt stock. with carbon fiber cold air intake, 4:10 gears, custom off road x pipe, borla cat back, 4" aluminum driveshaft, bmr suspension, bogart wheels on MT DR's. and some spray. still not minor considering they ported the heads. and you said in the 9's with minor mods not 10's and that is still not minor. minor is bolt'ons

I seem to remember that there was a 75 shot through these 'minor mods', intake, full exhaust, drag radials, ported blower and a pulley, what would that make a 75 shot anyway? through the ported and pullied blower?

Is there any members here that couldn't take there cars into the 9's with the "minor" mods mentioned...plus gears/DR's/ and a 75 shot?

i know im going to be past 9's when i get my warhawk 408 low compression and a F1A procharger and all supporting mods with minor mods

I consider minor mods bolt-ons, once you get past that they are NOT minor. I don't think you can get any car faster than 11s with minor mods unless you go into the $100k+ cars, enzo comes to mind The GT500 is an awesome car but overpriced. Now the C6 Z06 is an amazing car and priced fairly.

i can slap a supercharger better yet twin turbo and be in the 9's since its in the 10's on just DR's
