Had just got my dinner and was pulling out onto the street, when a SS rolls by throwin' some revs at me. I pulled out, he was going straight and my house was the next right. Of course even though I knew I was going to lose, I cut off the guy to my left to line up with the SS at the light and miss my turn. Asked him if he was just at Wal-mart, cause I saw the car parked when I was leaving, he says yea and he saw my ride too. Said he just had headers, probably had some minor other stuff too, had quad exhaust tips. He had a passenger, but I had just filled up so it probably evened it out a little.

First run: We roll out to around 30, he starts honking. I think I may have jumped a little, never heard a 3rd honk, just his engine start to rev up real loud so I went. I pull out about a car and to my surprise it stays that way up to about 90 when I slow for a curve and then we hit another red.

2nd run: He says lets go from a 20 and I agree. We let the traffic ahead get a bit in front, I remember my speedo is way off and see I'm rolling away from him lol. We match speeds and he honks again. This time I was late, he'd already dropped the hammer in his M6 before I even hit the pedal. So my A4 had to downshift and he was already up a car. He pulled a couple more by about 80 when I had to let off for traffic.

Gave him a thumbs up and told him my bad for rolling out cause my speedo is broken. Was trying to ask if he ever went on this site, but traffic didn't permit and I wasn't going to miss another turn off. Still looking for the time to get it tuned and get some hopefully minor repairs, hell it's only been like this for a year lol.

What made you think you were going to lose? You should of won considering he had a passenger.

 

Mostly the sound of his car haha. Plus he was an SS M6 and headers alone could probably put down more rwhp than what I have. Sadly I'm still 99% stock and the car isn't running right. My air/emissions are all jacked. Super bad gas mileage, scanned it yesterday at Autozone and it gave me 4 different codes. Just don't know what to do really, dealer will rape me.

P0410 - Secondary Air Injection Malfunction
P0420 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
P0430 - Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)

And there was another one about "Emission Malfunction", but I must have wrote it down wrong cause I can't find any info from what I have down.

Think I may just have to bite the bullet and take it to the dealer next week. I have smog for the first time in a couple months and need to get it taken care of. Maybe by some miracle they'll warranty it, but that is very doubtful.

 

I thankfully didn't have to smog, my cats are gutted but I got those codes to go away with a little trick. I see you're in riverside, we should meet up sometime. Its hard to find decent guys that drive f-bods here.

 

Yea for sure, none of my friends even like sports cars period, . So this is my place to relate to others with similar interests .

 

The 420 - 430 codes for Cat Eff. were under federal recall/warranty. I *believe* it was extended to 8 years / 100k miles, you should check it out, I both of my cats replaced by the dealer at no charge. AND they gave me a nice car wash free. ( I sat in the waiting area the whole time, so I know no one took out my car and ragged on her) The A.I.R. code can be lots of stuff, but the other ones are usually failed Cats.

ya my cats are gone, my remaining 02s are failed, egr code, a.i.r code, and some other stuff. Still running 12s though baby woot.
