Default Fast Cobalt "SS"???

Yeah right.
I was getting on the 60 in Mesa to find two yahoos in cobalt SS's driving like idiots, swerving in and out of traffic, trying to get me to chase them at about 95mph. I decided to show them to leave fourbangers to the japs. With the A/C on, I flew by at about 115 and left them in my dust for a while. It would have taken them about two miles to catch up to my 115 by the speed they were trying to catch me at. I've driven those cars, not impressed. Sadly, A little old lady going about 60 boxed me in and the retards drove past two lanes over. (in the traditional ricer mentality "If I pass you, EVEN if you slow down, I beat you" I might add) All I can do is sigh. If I could have talked, I might have told them i has better races with HONDAS!!!!!

yea those cobalts dont impress me much... i killed one the other night at a stop light it wasnt even a race!

Dont understand the A/C thing. Nice kill, there's some of those damn things that are quick, guy on the local forum has a stage 2 or something another that went low 14's at at like 98mph. But in the end it's still a 4banger GM, so.

For what they are they are pretty quick, my friend has a bone stock 07 and did a 14.5 with it....

A/C shuts off under hard throttle. Like if you rev with it on and get past a certain rpm it kills the A/C.

Im sorry, but when has mid 14's been considered quick? I would say mid 13's at least is "pretty quick" I dont know, maybe its just me

With all the newer sedans and such coming out, I'm going to have to agree. Cars are coming out with a lot more power now-a-days and mid 14's just isn't going to cut it even against family cars.

Bone stock my brother's car put down 206 fwhp and 191 fwtq. GM rates these cars at 205 hp 190 tq so I say they are pretty decent machines. Stock I know my brother was running 14.1@99. We are waiting to see what the twin screw will added.

GM needs to scrap the S/C and put on a turbo. The block has already shown to be able to handle tons of power/boost.

Anyways. Out of the box like most 4FI cars they aren't that impressive but as they get modded they wake up pretty well.

GM did scrap the blower. 07 is the last year for the supeercharged ss. A turbo version is rumored for 09 but who knows.

The cars are nice for what they are....and thats a 4 banger....when was the last time you saw a FWD IL4 come close to a descent pass? ????'s? EVO's? STI's? Come on, the car was built to keep...and I have seen the stock Cobalt destroy bolt on GT's...

Last time I hit the track I saw an S R T 4 running low 12's. When I lined up with him I got a nice whole shot and by the 1/8 I could see him coming hard. By the 1/4 he had me by 2 cars.
S R T 4 = IL4 banger
Low 12's = Descent Pass

Well Most people compare cars to cars of the same build
Camaro vs Mustang
STi vs EVO
Cobalt vs S R T 4

Well depending on that year and model the Camaro & Mustang have battled back and forth. The STi and EVO have been a drivers race since day one. Now the Cobalt vs the S R T 4 is a one sided race and always has been. Stock for stock the Dodge wins in every category. Modded and the gap widens. GM has the block to beat Dodge but for some reason they just keep holding back. There is so much crap you can by for the neons it reminds me of the Ford 302ci from the late 80's. Last Sunday I run my car at a SCCA event and 2 neons there both ran better times then me. I manager a 39.54 and they both hit high 38's. FOD ran a 35.6. The only dumb thing Dodge did went it came to the neon was discontinue it.
