Haha...my **** dont spool untill about 3700 rpm in second gear. I dont even wanna know how low my torque is off boost....any ways....he should be able to launch okay..IF he sets his suspension up right(lose the pro kit..maybe the drag kit or stock would work better?) and learns to drive.
FWIW I have a 4.05 first gear and 3.55 in the axle....on 235/60 r15....so his launch gear cant be much shorter if any with mine(no i didnt do the math)

3.55's and ditch the pro kit. those suck for weight transfer. too stiff

you can beleive it or not, but it does happen. sorry i don't have 800 rwtq, i only got around 600, plus its a six speed. I know of a few cars running in the 10s on 17 in drag radial, and at least one on 18 drag radials. I am the one espacef1fan is talking about. it didn't drag the bumber, but i got both front tires on the ground. 17 x 9.5 speedlines all the way around. a set of skinnies on the front and it would do even better.

Thats funny, my Cobra with the Pro kit springs in the rear seemed to do just find pulling the front tires off the ground in 1st and the 1-2 shift. Would you rather have the transferred energy from the launch go to the soft rear springs that use that energy to "squat" the rear or have that energy go into stiffer springs that send that energy into digging the tires into the ground? I'm sure some will disagree with me but my 60' doesn't lie to me!

Yeah..but what front springs are ya running?

If your front springs are too stiff you cant get enough rise to allow the weight of the car to shift effectively to the rear tires....

4.10's and a 2800 stall or maybee a 3200. 4.10's work great with a auto trust me i know. It makes a world of difference.

You can get 16" wheels to hook just as good as 15".

Big negative. Check out the size of tires for 17's vs 16's. I'm not talking about wide, I'm talking about tall.
